▸ The Predator WPA Men’s World 10-Ball Championship 2023 is an annual event organised by CueSports International and Predator Group. The event is sanctioned by the World Pool-Billiard Association (WPA) and takes place during the CueSports International Expo in Las Vegas.
▸ 128 players will compete for a total prize fund of $250,000 with $60,000 to be awarded to the winning player.
▸ The Predator Pro Billiard Series is a series of open, professional events held around the world to provide more opportunities for professional and aspiring pool players to compete in high-quality events, earn more income, sharpen their skills, and earn their way into the Predator World 10-Ball Championship held in Las Vegas each year as part of the CueSports International Expo.

Its the rules lol i have never got a bail out in my life every tourney or pool league if you dont call it thats on you buddy. Got to take responsibility for your wrong doings.

Yes it’s the game. The rules are there to be adhered to. And that’s why refs are there to make sure these rules are followed. When you are playing any game where call all shots is in force. You must verbally call every shot so the ref can hear. There was an incident years ago where earl had a similar incident to Mika. He did not verbally make the call. And got called on it. It’s not about how obvious a shot looks. It’s about the principle of the rules that all players must follow.

Whether he enunciated 9 ball isn’t really an issue. It was clear as day he wanted the 5-9 combo. Balls made contact and went it smooth. De Luna jumping at first opportunity for a play was shady. Any decent player recognizes the 9 was intended. Mika’s attitude was bad

I would have acted the exact same way as Mika. Totally justified! De Luna was making shenanagans. You don't try to shark your opponent like that if you have any class. It was totally pointless. Just like when he wasn't sitting down right away at the beginning and the ref had to point it out to him. Then he would take breaks to try to get Mika out of gear. If you pay attention, it's clear it was all psycological warfare from De Luna. Sure, it would have looked better for Mika had he stayed calm about it, but I'm guessing this wasn't the first time he's run into this.

Damn, sorry to hear about Stage 4 cancer. My mom was just diagnosed again two days ago stage 4 after her breast removal because it spread. There are better treatments out these days and hope all the best, one of the players I always looked up to while practicing and seems like a cool dude in person.

What gives with the Mika? His attitude towards the game has changed over the years. He is commonly known as the Iceman but now he may be called the "HOT ICEMAN". He needs to call down and not fret on another player. His win does not do justice for him.

wellwhen you have only one shot and pocket nine ball, you say nine ball, and its obvious there is nothing BUT the nine ball to pocket and the refs and pinoy "no you diod not call it" it is pretty frustruating

The problem was the ref called it a foul and not De Luna. De Luna only stood up because he wanted to confirm the referee’s call.

@@McDzyHe did... you're not gonna see it in this video, because it was the overhead camera. But there's another video that actually shows him mouthing the words 9 ball. I think Mika is a spoil sport tho, I really don't like his attitude now he's gotten older.

@budomushin I agree DeLuna was in the wrong on how he acted and he absolutely knew Mika was going for that 5 to 9 combo into the side pocket. Pure unsportsmanlike conduct. Mika simply needed to put his head down and finish the game but instead acted like a fool and pompous @ss and showed quite a bit of unsportsmanlike conduct himself after finding out he was in the clear by the ref.

There might be a small gap that you can't see from the distant camera. I don't actually think it's frozen. If you look at the break shot at 7:15 when the 3 ball ended up there you can see it roll to the rail and bounce out ever so slightly. In any case, it has to be declared frozen by the referee or the players before the shot for it to be considered frozen. Since no such call was made it's presumed not frozen regardless.

The rule must be applied, there's no such thing as understood or obvious, if he didn't call the shot like what the referee said , then that means d ball that Mika pocketed ain't legit😂

Combinations have to be called loud and audible.. or pointed to the pocket obviously in an intentful manner. No matter how obvious. It was the ref who made a deal about it.. not De Luna!
