Nice goals. In relation to the smashes, i can tell you that it´s a technical thing. Especially the around the head smash. There you have to pull the arm a little bit more straight downwards for good precision. To add more power you can rotate your shoulders a little bit more. So in preperation of the smash your right shoulder is turned to the back of the court but with the smash it comes forward. To your forhand smash: it´s just practicing the things like you did in your "x things I leanrt from training in china". Sry I really dont know the title of the video anymore but I´m sure you know which one I mean. Good video as always. Keep it up

Also, I'm also having problems with the Tezuka Zone. I believe the reason is we didn't have enough drills training for accuracy. In other words, the muscle memory hasn't formed solid enough to let you confidently hit closer to the sidelines during the games. It is very common that people play safely during the matches. As a reference, check out this training video of Kento Momota and see how many drills he does for the accuracy training and how accurate he is: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/i7SCnpp9yM7Zlmw.html

Really looking forward to your analysis on your match vs. Paul. Getting into the nitty gritty details is really, what i like most about your channel. Apart from your anime memes ofc :D Is that Prince of tennis? Nice editing! But yeah, you're kinda too chilled on court, but that's what nice about your videos, feels like just some dude hanging out with, looking for some simple badminton improvement.

All in all, great spirit and dedication. It's great to have goals and the ambition to get them. Basically your goal are power, accuracy and pace. But from your videos I don't think these are your problems. Here's why. You choose to smash when your opponents are well-based in the middle with a smash that is "transparent" that's why they get it. Try to open the court and use the shuttle push your opponent off balance, then your smash will be more effective. Also, the shots after your smash do not punish your opponent, try to put the shuttle closer to the net or push your opponent with a flat shot. I'd work on: (1) Effect footwork to get to the shuttle with less steps and more balance (2) Being able to use a variety of masked shots from the back court all with the same technique (3) come higher to the net and create more offensive net shots.

Nice goals! One thing I noticed though, there are quite a few times you took the shuttle late, especially at the net, where you take it pretty low. Maybe work on that, taking the shuttle early gives you so many more options, and you can possibly control the net better!

You've got a pretty good technique what you're missing is your leg strength and some footworks. First, when defending a smash, you need a bigger splitstep, while what you did there is a splitstep for a clear. Second, you're foot is always following the ball's speed, so it's hard to mess the oppponent's pace, if you can just train your agility with skipping rope and other agility training, and train your footworks so you can always be there before the ball is ready to be hit (especially on net balls) you can easily trick your opponent with some trickshot, or just make them freeze by shock. If you see a professional player played some shots that tricked the opponent, it is because they were there before the ball, so there is at least they can use 1 second either to hit the ball faster, slower, or normal speed. Next just a simple technical play, when you are doing clear, instead of thinking that you want the ball to be cleared so you can be ready, you should just think that you want to smash to the corner of the oppponent's court(note : not the side line but the corner I call it a clearing smash, it looks like a drive but from back line to back line) usually this can mess up your opponent's footwork if you caught them off guard, but be careful because you need to be ready of a drop shot or cross drive if they anticipate or react in time. That is a risky move but can make you control the game pace better if you can just master it. I'm not a badminton master myself, but I've done a lot of training so don't offense me if I'm teaching some wrong techniques. Badminton is art, every people have their own way to play. +I'm not good at English, forgive me for bad grammar or spelling. Good luck y'all

The smashing problem in my opinion, is that you hit the shuttle behind you, hence the contact point of racket if behind too, and slices the shuttle. But I think your footwork is much more efficient (and nicer too) than Paul though, the reason why I think he wins more is because he's playing much more aggressively and he constantly predicting your shots. If you incorporate some deception in your play (reference Tai Tzu Ying), I think you'll start winning against Paul. Anyway, this just my 2 cents haha

Hey! Yeah!!! Tbh, (hope paul doesn’t see this) I think my form and footwork are better than Paul’s. But he’s athletic so he runs faster, gets there early, and plays super aggressive. As for the smashing problem, I think it’s because on the right side, I’m rotating left, so the bird naturally goes left. On the left side, I think I’m either not rotating enough or my racket angle is just a bit off. Hitting the shuttle behind me is another factor too though :)
