Great Video. just to add (you probably know) if using Groove Agent , in the inspector instead using the GM map, its possible to choose the option "create map from instrument" and it will show the name of each pad on groove agent on the drum editor

I think the biggest plus for the drum editor is the ability to apply different quantise values to each piece of a kit or quantise only certain things like the kick but leave the feel in the others. There are free maps out there for many drum apps too.

Thank you for a very informative video. As a long-time Cubase user I do know the Drum Editor, but I managed to get a few great tips I did not know, like the fill-to-grid-by-dragging feature. Cubase is Great!

Love it. I honestly don’t see myself using anything else other than CUBASE. To me it’s the best. I’ve tried ableton and it’s cool but not better in my opinion.

Jef, Very helpful. I've saved this to my Cubase resource playlist as part of my reference library. When the dust settles on Kontakt 14, I'd like to see you do a video on when and why you use Kontakt to add and instrument, and when you start with Komplete Kontrol instead. I understand the basic differences, but I'd be interested in your take on how you make that choice and you feel it impacts both your workflow and your creative process. Thanks
@jefgibbons
@jefgibbons Жыл бұрын
You bet, I mainly only use Komplete Kontrol when I want to use the features of my keyboard... otherwise I just go straight to Kontakt!

Thank for this video I still don't know where I can see the patterns that I create and then repeat them like the sequences in Ableton and fruity loop that you have recorded different patterns yourself, you choose them and everything is faster that way

Great as always! But how do you get the colour in?
@jefgibbons
@jefgibbons Жыл бұрын
Do you mean the colour of the different drum parts? There might be a little window in your drum editor that says Velocity (colour by velocity), change that to colour by note!
@HenryMittnacht
@HenryMittnacht Жыл бұрын
@@jefgibbons Yes, that’s what I meant. Thank you 🙏
@jefgibbons
@jefgibbons Жыл бұрын
@@HenryMittnacht No problem! I always set my Key editor to that as well, I'd rather see velocity down below, easier to see when I make a mistake when the colour seems off!

Dude, get hold of Algonaut Atlas v2, amazing drum plugin, built in step sequencer, ability to save kits/loops and it automatically sorts your one hit samples from your folders, it came out before XO. You can then easily generate new kits using the same sequenced loop etc. The built in Steinberg solution is rubbish overall, very happy with Atlas. Up to 64 pads, more than enough!
