I feel grateful this reconditioning program kzfaq.infoUgkxcJ22tnHH9l1vjdIdEIG27iOG55P7LXI8 was started. I had Three dead batteries scheduled for disposing of. Having said that, I tried out reconditioning them and it took me only an hour to do it! It doesn`t matter what type of battery you want, the process works.

those are NOT the correct kind of rubber gloves for high voltage EV work. You need to be using class 00 rubber inner glove with a leather outer glove. Gloves should be checked for holes and punctures EVERY time they are worn. The voltages are deadly and care needs to be taken.
@spencer9551
@spencer9551 7 жыл бұрын
True, however keep in mind that the main contactors are no longer powered, splitting the pack voltage in half once already down to around 200VDC. Additionally its important to maintain dexterity with your hands so you don't drop your tools/bolts, and thick rubber gloves make that very difficult.

I've heard from multiple sources that you CANNOT parallel the Tesla packs. That it is extremely dangerous and very difficult to get a BMS system to work correctly (that is actually requires multiple BMS systems - one for each pack and then another to run the entire battery bank - and that was directly from Orion - who also states you severly degrade the usable power in the pack do to the safety margins required to not overcharge a good pack if you have a weak pack in the system.

I’m planning on putting two of these batteries in my RV. I’m not too tech savvy but I’ve been following you and some other channels for a while now on my private profile. I will have about 3200w if solar on the roof and figured two of these batteries in parallel at 24v should be plenty but might add more later. I’m still figuring out if I should run two 24v Multiplus 3000w inverters or one Quattro (will be using all Victron equipment), with the split phase system in an RV. The thing I’m struggling most with is the BMS. It looks like the Orion BMS might be a good option but I’m open to suggestions. The compartment I’m building the system in is protected from the cold and heat and doesn’t drop below 56* in winter or above 80* in summer, and that is before I duct AC to it or install fans.

Hi, you mentioned putting these 24V “cores” (I’ll call them cores from now on) in parallel to make a higher capacity battery pack. I was wondering if you put any thought into how to deal with an imbalance between cores. Once you put the two cores in parallel any imbalance will rapidly discharge into the other lower voltage core. This could lead to a lithium event because the cells are not meant for high rate charging. I work on batteries myself so I was wondering how to deal with this issue. The obvious answer is to discharge/charge the cores to the same voltage and then connect in parallel. Any other ideas? Add resistance between cores so imbalance discharge would be low current? Looking forward to hear your thoughts on this.

Yes because they are the batteries that are used and the packs are cooled by coolant going through dedicated ducts, being cooled by radiator. 1 packs is 444 batterys in parrellel circuit with 24 vokts so to get the same output you would need the same 16 pack as usind in the battery taken apart with a total amount of 7104 batterys (18650) and output voltage would be 384volts. All cordless tools use this system just with different batterys

Great video. The voice over towards the end didn't sound so great. I know you were losing your voice, but it seemed like the audio quality.

interesting... okay so I am a complete noob, my goal is to buy several of these (mabye 4 or 5) and use it as a "remote" way to charge a PHEV.. (I can charge at home, but when I get to work there aren't any plugs to charge with). What is the best way to get 120v AC to do level 1 charging to a PHEV? Thanks!

Since the pack was pretty packed with modules, was that a 100kWh battery pack?

Ah I see. With the newer chemistry processing they use since Feb 2016, this battery would be the 90kWh edition. So probably 2 more new 5,6kWh modules in the 100D ...
