Hi sir love your videos I have written a paragraph on how Hyde is presented as a frightening character. Could you tell me how i could improve it! THANKS! Stevenson introduces Hyde as a frightening character in order to comment on the (then) new found theory of evolution, showing that a primitive, savage being resides in all of us, even in the seemingly most educated and respected. In this extract, Stevenson physically labels Hyde as a ‘troglodyte’ and ‘hardly human’, Stevenson’s use of adjectives represents an external manifestation of Dr. Jekyll’s primitive, dark and malevolent inner self. Hyde is depicted as ‘dwarfish’ which harks back to previous human species such as Homo- floresiensis, who existed before homo-sapiens evolved. This compounds Mr Hyde to be an unevolved and a ‘pre-human’ version of Dr Jekyll. Stevenson pairs this with lapsarian imagery, describing him to be akin to ‘Satan’, and showing him to have malicious and immoral intentions. By presenting Mr Hyde as Dr. Jekyll’s primitive and evil counterpart Stevenson aims to highlight the fact that the ‘beast within a man’ resides within us all, and not even the upper class are exempt from this frightening component of their character.

Yes, it is very good. Chronologically speaking, Homo Floresiensis has only been discovered in the last decade, so not a good reference!

Here's the thing. It doesn't matter whether the exam is easier or harder. The exam board still has to give about 74% grade 4 and above, and about 18% grade 7 and above. So, it won't make any difference your grade.
