Carmen is played by American mezzo Maria Ewing. She has made the Nozze di Figaro and the Dance of the Seven Veils, where she appears gloriously nude at the end. It's all in KZfaq (Oct 26, 2014)

The voice & the instruments blend together so well. When other sopranos sing this song, either they drown out the instruments or they her.

thats what is true opera! Not the artificial face expressions like all other singers... she is just natural, everything is so natural, she is carmen, she doesnt pretend to be her!

Maus McCord Probably none. Reconstruction of the face would alter her instrument. Contouring with stage makeup is pretty extreme though, so maybe that's what you're seeing.
