The thing about the field dwindling like this is that a DNF is massive costly.

@@thatrandomharpguy7564 Not exactly. There are less points given out in total with every new round, and so the difference between 0 and 1 points gets bigger (and a DNF hurts more and more). A win was worth 35 points in the beginning; it is only worth 19 points now. In other words, each point has nearly doubled in value.

I don't think DNFs are too costly, it's more about finishing consistently up the top. Minty Maniacs got a DNF and they still sit in 8th. Meanwhile Savage Speeders have no DNFs and are last.

@@TheDownUnderGamer01 Whether they are "too costly" is a different matter (and I don't think they are). The fact is a DNF now is more costly than a DNF in round 1. No more, no less.

That's probably the best final sprint that Mandarin has done in a few weeks. Wow, what a great line to the finish. Now, just have to find a way to do that when we're closer to the front of the pack.

A few weeks ago (before the demons really descended), Mandarin was doing that quite regularly. Then he got attacked by the dumpster and lost his confidence.

On the day that Rezzy got that 1st place finish and crashed into the back at incredible speed, I commented that I was worried he may have been a bit too overzealous and possibly injured himself. That seems to be the case after the last two performances. Hopefully he can recover in time to secure the Raspberry Racers spot this week and keep the solid run going into next week.

Break 5 For Team Momo Break 4 Break 3 Break 2 Break 1 What a blast of speed! Momomo was really struggling up top with the quick direction changes on the course and the traffic of the other marbles, but when they got the chance toopen it up and pour on the speed ... WOOF :) . Amazing fourth place finish today. Definitely needed. Keep digging Momomo, you got this.

I was wondering too! We were in good standing when we got to the battering ram, then I didn’t see us again until we were way behind. Maybe Rezzy got stuck beneath it?

@@mossomness I think he got stuck right after the battering ram and the ghost marble dislodged him. You can rewind frame by frame from when you spot him at the last stretch but it's pretty hard to tell exactly who's who at that distance.

This is from simulating 500,000 races. Probabilities below 1 in 100,000 (0.001%) are estimated not directly from the simulation, but by extrapolation, from a best-fit curve. The probability of a DNF is estimated from how many DNFs there have been on this track (after race 60, this was 3 in 64, or 4.7%).
