the nerf wasnt even just to the spinning fast strategy, if you wanted to do a full 180 degree turn to hit enemies behind you in abyss, it is SIGNIFICANTLY slower and it's very noticeable, clunky, and unfair. It's still in the game you can test it right now

Here's a great example of what they should've (and have done): Kokomi when she released had a bug where she was able to walk on water infinitely, Hoyo addressed that this was a bug and would patch it the NEXT patch. Neuvillete however, had no warning, no addressing during release, and was done many patches after Neuvillete was released.

As a console player i dont really care at all. That 360° no scope hyper spin obviously wasnt intentional but they should have fixed it in atleast the first few weeks of his release. I wish the CN community would complain about Ventis garbage burst targeting but no one cares about Venti anymore 😢.

I never saw spin to win Neuvillette as a bug. It was clearly an oversight by the devs and could be considered an exploit but the "fix" felt terrible. Most people didn't do the crazy DPI spins, but what I and many others did was a quick back and forth to cover multiple enemies and the fix felt like it was inconsistently speeding up and slowing down and there was a major lack of precise control

what i think they should've done is INCREASE his charge attack sensitivity on all devices and cap it so it isn't affected by DPI on pc - that way you still have a spin 2 win tactic available but now it's universal (although mayby not AS broken as it is on mouse and keyboard)

I feel a lot of people are underestimating how much time putting in a fix for a comparatively minor issue could end up taking. Here's a little insight from a software developer (Who works on a very large application that is critical for client operations) into what fixing something like this would look like (PS = Production Support): PS, a week after release) Hey, there's people spinning the character and evaporating things. Was that intended? Maybe should shoot an email over to the developers. Dev) How bad of an issue is it? PS) *shrug* People seem to like it? Seems to be kind of overpowered though. Dev) Let me check with the designers, see what they want to do. Design) Nope, not intended. Fix it. Dev Team) *Discuss how to resolve issue, numerous solutions proposed Dev Lead) *Tells one dev to do an analysis, come back to them with what they think is feasible Dev) *Spends a couple weeks doing a full analysis Dev Lead) *Takes Dev feedback, proposes options to design leads, gives pros/cons, waits for an all clear to proceed Dev Lead) *Tells them to try something that sounds like it is the least likely to impact other areas, but also doesn't create bad code Dev) *Starts implementing control for max rotation speed while doing channeled skills or something QA) X ability from some other character is being impacted Dev) *Revisits change, spends a couple weeks doing RCA Dev) *Pushes new change to QA QA) Doesn't feel great, can we improve the feel? If hoyo didnt like neuvillette spin to win, they could have immediately posted a message in game and through social media that "there is a rotation bug, we are working on a fix that wil, be implemented at a future date when it is ready." That would have covered them.

I feel like Hoyo has been listening more closely and be more open in communication ever since the end of 4.6 I would say? And more interestingly, in the most recent survey, I got a *metric ton of questions* about not only Imaginarium Theater, but also about time and resources needed to build new characters and why you build characters, but also about resin-, character exp- and weapon exp material stocks, obtainability and usage. VERY specific. To me it feels that Hoyo has really gotten stung by both, as you said, internal and external competition, and are now actually delving deep into the things players have been clamoring about. I'm not even joking, they even asked me about *how much fragile resin I currently had, how many character exp books I had etc.* Let's hope they keep this openness and issue fixing going.

It's not a bug, but it was an Exploit. And IMO, Exploits should be left alone unless they are truly gamebreaking. And if it is a Single player game, they should just be left alone, period. It's up to the players if they want to take advantage of them or not.

Considering I have Nuevillette on console. I can say he is more than strong enough and still the best onfield dps in the game without that spin technique.

This puts so much pressure to any new on field hydro DPS. They have to beat neuv in terms of: 1. DPS 2. Scaling 3. Team synergy and flexibility 4. Self buffing 5. Self healing 6. AoE 7. Spin2win He just brings so much to the table

I was playing yesterday with Neuvi. I noticed he was a lot slower when turning but never really payed much mind to it but looking back on it now, it was a bit stressful lmao

Let's be real, the 10 pull compensation is not because of wuthering waves. It's the direct result of outrage from the CN community side threatening hoyoverse to be investigated by the CCP for fraud and the doxxing of it's workers and threats. By no means am I saying the doxxing/threats of employees is justified but it really made hoyo backpedal harder in 4 years of the game's release. The situation is quite funny when you juxtapose it to the outrage of natlan characters not having dark skin from the West side and you can see that the west truly has 0 pull compared to the CN side of things.

I believe this was 1000% meant to be a nerf, no doubt. And if they were "successful" with it, most of the Fontaine characters would've followed... Why, because, idk if y'all noticed but basically all the Fontaine chars power-creeped the old chars, and I believe it was intentional to milk money... Cause you can't tell me a (probably) multi-billion dollar company with PRE TEST/BETA SERVERS with each patch & CC SERVERS, did not pick this up before his release and still within 7 MONTHS, a. Did not pick it up (with hundreds of guides) & b. Found a way to fix it... Make it make sense. (P.S. This is my SUBJECTIVE OPINION)...

I don't think this has happened because the "devs listened". I think it's more to appease the furious CN whales who fund their game. If they actually got sued it could have been court ordered but i highly doubt it reached that stage because of the time frame. They probably had a discussion with the biggest players planning on suing them and probably had to agree to their terms to get them to drop lawsuits. The fact that they managed to wring a 10 pull out out the company's stingy hands is a massive W. Also it's a good thing this happened because if they got away with it, it would have set a horrible precedent for the future where they could give bs excuses to nerf good characters which would be competition for the new banner 5 stars. I genuinely feel the heads were testing the waters to see how much they could get away with but they Fed around and found out. Also idk if WuWa being better about public relations made a difference from hoyo's side, but it's more likely it's from the community's side. They probably had a case to force them to pay up at least a 10 pull as apology because another gacha game does and a smaller one at that, so hoyo could not make excuses that it hurts their profits enough. Let's hope hoyo doesn't drop the ball again on the 4th anniversary in a few months. If they do I'm hoping that the CN community pulls through for all of us again. Since at the end of the day, it shouldn't be us vs CN (even though it sucks how much preference they get), but it should be us and CN vs hoyo. I truly wish that wasn't the case but hoyo has brought this upon themselves trying their best to dook-dook (youtube deletes this but not the bots 🙄) on their community at every possible opportunity. They're lucky they made such a great game because they don't deserve the loyalty the community has to the game.

I actually don't like the logic of "they're only fixing it now because there's a new hydro character coming.". Here's the thing, back then, Furina was a highly anticipated character coming after Neuvellete, so if they fixed it back then people STILL would have made that same argument.

This is just a speculation. Many people are really excited for natlan like really really excited, much more than before other versions so they are very interested in the characters especially pyro archon. However mulani and other characters are coming out and they want people to spend as much as possible. So they want people to pull with the freemogems as soon as possible before the like of pyro archon, xbalanque and the fatui harbringer of natlan releases so that they spend money for theses characters. However directly powercreeping will be destructive and enraging as the characters are all already powerful. Hence they are starting a trend to nerf characters starting with the most powerful character neuvillete. They nerfed his er requirement before and now its this. They must have also speculated the enrage of the community and therefore decided to soften the blow by first giving out 100 gems and then 1.6k (This is the DITF psychological trick) however this is nowhere enough for the poeple who have neuvillete who may have pulled him for this specific gameplay or would have liked this gameplay. In the first place its absurd to nerf characters as saving up for one takes a hell lot of time and effort and nerfing after two banner is just absurd. Going to have to disagree with that "true" about modifications to released characters hurting the trust. Their failure to address flaws in characters has most definitely hurt my trust in them, and if they want to build that trust back, they need to modify some released characters ;) Anyway, sounds like Chinese players got really worked up, and that's why Hoyoverse backtracked as hard as they did.

I played PS5, so I was never able to do it. I do think it's weird that he can move that fast on PC and nowhere else. I don't mind it being changed at all because he's still insanely good. It is weird that it took them so long, tho.

One thing I've noticed, I have looked at some leaks, and I actually think people may have gotten things inverted a bit on the cause and effect. Some notes on what I noticed from leaks below: All of the new characters have things that seem to involve long duration skills and movement, wherein rotation speed should be capped. There's a possibility that Neuvillette got capped as a result of also putting caps on these characters' ability to rotate. If this is the case, then really it was more of Neuv getting hit with a normalization of such skills in accordance with a new standard being set up for these future characters where a capped rotation speed might be super important.

I think it's fine to bug fix. Even for limited characters and after a long time.

I'm a mouse player but I haven't be using that trick even though I use Neuvillette a lot. I gave it a try in a few domain runs and did not notice any change for me, even with fast repositioning. So personally I wasn't unhappy about the change, but yeah, those using spin to win had obviously different opinion.

I have a feeling that Mihoyo did a massive internal structuring within the company. They are upgrading the graphics of use mobile players, doing all these optimizations, developing communities and creating teams that probably are more receptive towards player feedback. Good move by them considering it's a 3 up game now, longevity equals success esp in the modern world where people's attention span are so short.

i also use controller and don’t use this “bug” but i never thought it was a bug, i just thought it’s got to do with camera speed, but since i use bow characters a lot i didn’t want to test high sensitivity for neuvillette

As a mobile player I cannot abuse this "Feature" at all. So it does seem a bit unfair for mobile players. However, it is also unfair for the players who spent a lot on a character (Money, time, etc...) to be nerfed like this out of the blue. I will be expecting crazy powercreep in Natlan in both characters and enemies to counter this issue. I just hope it will not affect the gameplay itself that much!
