I wrote this song with the people who have experienced severe depression in mind those with extreme PTSD… Remember no matter how bad it gets heaven is not a place we should go looking for… I love y’all so much I hope this helps somebody

I have tried that atleast 10 times and then My sister did that. A lot to say but it reshaped my whole reality. I learned a lot from her memorial. Loosing my sister still hasn't helped. I try to get therapy but don't have medical assistance. Here it is 3 year later and I still ain't fully together. I hope you never do it. I am always trying to write music on a positive note.

Damn Jelly, I’m not a hero like our veterans are, but I was just telling a friend at work the other day about a time I had a gun in my mouth and pressure on the trigger. Shit had gone south and then I remembered my kids and how I didnt want them to face the same things one day and not have me there to support them. This song resonates strongly with me and you continue to put out amazing songs! Just wanted to say thank you!

When I came back from Iraq I was fine. For the first month. The next month got darker. Then after I don't know how long I started fighting suicide and the booze. I'd spend weeks drinking till I passed out and I can't tell you how many times I held a gun to my head thinking I'd be better off dead. Better off not here. I come from a good family, no abuse, no mental illnesses I can think of, I had a good childhood. No "typical" reasons to be suicidal. But there I was anyway. I never talked to anyone about it, never reached out. Man was I dumb. I didn't want to be labeled as a mental case or whatever. Those days are long behind me. I still drink because I like the taste, but I can't tell you the last time I was drunk. Suicidal thoughts are real and they can come after anyone from any background. You don't have to come from a broken home to go down that road. And please, if you're having those thoughts don't be "macho" like me, get help. Your family will thank you. And in the end that's all that really matters.

Oh my Jelly Roll you keep amazing me with your music! I almost lost my beautiful daughter 7 years ago to overdose. I thank God every day she is still with us. Her older sister found her in her room and woke us up. We got her to emergency room and got her help. Thank you Jelly Roll for your music.

I can really relate to this song Jelly. My son Bradley was an Iraqi war veteran. I should say is. He came back so screwed up with the PTSD he still has it divorce trying to self inflict himself nightmares terrors flashbacks blacking out absolutely horrible the VA doesn't do much for them in fact the VA just keeps handing them pills. Thank God he took himself all off all the pills. He turned himself into an exercise fanatic now and eating right. Thank God my son is alive. God bless you for this song I know many other people will be able to relate to this as well. Your songs have meaning to each one of them to wear any of us no matter what our problems are can relate to each song in a different way. Love you to death. Your music rocks big time. My sister was a victim of domestic violence and she struggled so long before finally letting him go. He had so many demons and was always threatening to kill himself. For so long I was in such a dark place. No job living in my grandma's old house. Now I have a job that I enjoy and my own apartment. To all you younger ones it gets better I promise.
