A standing-room-only crowd gathered at Stetson Library in New Haven's historic Dixwell neighborhood for JELLY ROLL'S JAM, a free community concert inspired by the legacy of Jelly Roll Morton. The concert celebrated Long Wharf Theatre's reading of the iconic jazz musical JELLY'S LAST JAM in 2022.
Dixwell has been New Haven's home for jazz - and this event was no exception! Presented in partnership with the New Haven Free Public Library and created by Chris "Big Dog" Davis and Stetson Branch Manager Diane X Brown. Featuring Maysa, Dawn Tallman, Harold Zinnio, Jr., Ace Livingston, and Dexter Petteway with Chris "Big Dog" Davis on keys.
