They had potential to make such a great movie ! I still don't understand why they didn't include one single song from the huge repertoire they had. They only showed how much they didn't care for the fans who just wanted to see and hear the songs in a live version. Maybe an other shot, someone in Hollywood ?

TV series music from Jem and the Holograms have: - Synchronized vocal harmonization (check) - Wicked bass lines (schlappin' the bass!! check) - Syncopated rhythm (check) - Crazy high lead vocal range (check) - Slow but steady beat (check) - Most stuff that quality musicians do that pretty much we don't have nowadays (check) The movie ... I don't know what happened. Have a good day

I really wish the Holograms had been animated better when they played. Shana just beats the drums left-right-left-right, Kimber plunks at the keyboards the same way, and Aja strums up and down, not playing any discernible chords. Kinda reminds me of Nirvana on "Top Of The Pops", but at least THEY were just kidding around.

I know this conversation is long gone but I just had to chime in. I agree it is old animation but Disney never had this issue in the 1940's and so-on. The animation has always been brilliant for it's time. I'm sure it was to do with budget than anything else.

Never saw the show as a kid, but I knew I was interested since it was mentioned on Robot Chicken and the now inactive site Animated Lust (Rated PG). (They have a forum though). I finally got a chance to watch it on the HUB back in 2011, and aside from the theme song (which is SheRamazing!) Only The Beginning is what got me permanently hooked to it!! Jem, Aja, Kimber, Shaina, The Misfits, Synergy, Eric Raymond, and later The Stingers, all such amazing characters for such an amazing ride!!

Hasbro has always amazing songs and sounds with all their cartoon series. Transformers' Stan Bush, Jem and the Holograms and nowadays My Little Pony Friendship is Magic and Equestria Girls. Jem was a series from the 80's but some of their songs could have had hitparade potential just like The Rainbooms and Dazzlings from MLP Equestria Girls.

I might sound a bit crazy for me saying this but … … does anyone else think the Jem: and the Holograms (2015) movie was deliberately sabotaged to make more sales for the (2022) Barbie movie? Because Jem has all the ingredients to create a modern blockbuster with very little need to modify the cast or character dynamics.
