Women have been great for decades! Women deserve to be greatly compensated. Caitlin Clark has deservedly garnered national attention. Cynthia Cooper, Sheryl Swoopes, Tina Thompson, Maya Moore, Breanna Stewart, Cheryl Miller among others should all get their flowers. Coach Dawn Staley is the greatest WNBA point guard of all time. There are honestly too many great players from the past to name. Sorry if I missed some of the great ones.

If played in prime time - looking at 30 mil Crazy WNBA gotta to take advantage of the interests - draft is next week and games start in May - that is to their advantage. Idk why people don’t mention these former UConn players were on LITERAL SUPER TEAMS. CC has some help but her team’s level of play isn’t even close to what Breanna Stewart, Diana Taurasi, or Sue Bird played with, yet they gatekeep CC from being an all time great? She made the Final game two years in a row, give her credit.
@comedychrises
@comedychrises 2 ай бұрын
They played at a time when UConn had a monopoly on talent in women's basketball. There is a reason why they had two separate record-breaking winning streaks. What makes SC's run the last few years so impressive is that they are playing at a time when parity has never been better.
@comedychrises
@comedychrises 2 ай бұрын
Oh, and as far as Iowa is concerned, they had no claim what so ever to being an elite program. It's not like they have a history of success in women's basketball (or men's, or really any sport for that matter). They aren't a blue blood in any form or fashion, so to have this kind of run and that kind of player is really special.
@mrjay3047
@mrjay3047 2 ай бұрын
@@comedychrisesIt definitely was not the parity in the woman’s game then that it is now. There are probably 8 teams right now that could win it next year before the portal dust settles. That being said, nothing Diana Tarasi said was wrong. It is going to be different for her next year even though I think she is going to the best possible situation for her to allow her to maximize her skillset and hide her deficiencies. Indiana has one of the best post players in the game. One of the best forwards. One of the most dynamic two guards so she will be able to do what she does best shoot and give assists…The ladies understanding how defense works and scheme and the talent and athleticism in the league are well within their knowledge to comment on the adjustments required.

But what he did was like Two siblings getting in a fight, you get the last hit in and then go snitch to your mom. In a way I’m OK with it from this standpoint, Drake was hoping that Kendrick and J. Titles in women's college basketball (like most college sports) is a function of recruiting not singular great players. UConn, Tennessee, and now SC simply had (and now have) MUCH, MUCH more talent on the bench than everyone else in women's college basketball. South Carolina will have at least 3-4 women in the WNBA from this team. Iowa will have one. When UConn was winning championship after championship they had multiple 5 star players on those teams and nearly always had the #1 HS player in the country. If you put Taurasi on this Iowa team - there would also be zero championships for Taurasi. Appreciate Caitlin Clark for the electricity she brought to the game.

You are so right. The Lions dominated the first half yet played so tentatively in the second half. Plus Lions QB Goff acted like he was scared to run the football to get 1st downs and keep drives going. Brock Purdy was money for SF in the 2nd half.

Jemele Hill isn’t necessarily racist, but is so pro black she refuses to just acknowledge that there’s 1 reason for the popularity of women’s basketball. It’s Caitlin Clark, not cause shes white and the media is crafting a narrative. It’s her style of play and dominance, it’s unique the way Tiger, Serena, Jordan, Bird, Magic, Lebron, Steph, Federer. This isn’t about the other women’s players, or the other great women’s players it’s about 1 unique great player catching lightning in a bottle. Jemele Hill loses credibility when she does this crap.
