Shortly after The Pat McAfee Show was in a controversy due to comments made on-air by Aaron Rodgers about Jimmy Kimmel, Pat McAfee went to air to accuse an ESPN executive Norby Williamson with trying to "sabotage" The Pat McAfee show. Jemele Hill tweeted "I can relate" in response to the report and Jemele joined the show to discuss how she relates to McAfee's accusation of ESPN trying to sabotage their own shows.

@@RaiderNation327 exposure. ESPN easily makes his visibility to a national audience wider, crossovers with get up & first take is easy advertising and having them on his show. The problem we all saw a mile away was there’s no such thing as complete freedom with a corporate overseer. Pat and the Boys are doing sports media like no one really ever has heretofore concerning the virtually universal reverence to corporate legacy media platforms. Even if the ESPN deal doesn't last, Pat and his team have built an immensely loyal fan base accross multiple sports/entertainment spheres which he's leveraging with incredible effect. Like them or not, the creative control Pat and the Boys retain is what separates their product from virtually everyone else while also getting incredible guests on consistently in a casual, fun and entertaining atmosphere. I think Pat recognized the logistics and access benefits of partnering with ESPN but it wouldn't surprise me if there were certain barriers encountered prior to the deal which would have made access more difficult. I know the vast majority of people watching Pat and the Boys will keep doing so regardless of certain letters on a corner of the screen.

The most telling thing about this entire segment was referring to Pat McAfee, an 8 year NFL vet, 2x pro bowler, All Pro, and one of the most successful sports podcaster’s in recent history as a “professional wrestler”. Not an athlete, not even a podcaster. You literally took 2% of this guys exceptional journey and focused on the most minuscule unimportant part of his brand. That was decidedly petty. The definition of passive aggression. Now I wonder what the story is behind that.

Pat and the boys have worked their ass off over the years to build the PMS brand. He said he had problems with that Norbie guy years ago. He never shown Pat respect so why should Pat show him respect and called him out on it. Him trying to put out lower rating numbers to try to get ESPN to get rid of the show is low and petty. Pat is relatable that's why all these athletes have zero problems coming on to his show. He got Nick Saban to come on his show every week for the year for Gods sake.

Lmaooo Jamelle thinking she can relate to Pat is the most lack of self awareness I’ve ever seen. She was canned because she had a terrible show that was 90% politics not because the bosses hated her 😂.

Pat was a pro football player AND a wrestler after his career. Purposely leave out the NFL part to try to discredit him.

Pat has fans….. you 2 don’t. McAfee is ESPN’s competitor, so it was a double hitter for ESPN. If they lose him, it’s a double loss. Very simple

That's what happens when ESPN doesn't own the show. You don't own sportscenter is the difference. You'd be dumb if you are under contract with ESPN and do what he did they don't own Pat.

Jemele comparing herself to McAfee is a joke. Nobody even knows who this woman is, and her show with Michael Smith was a snooze fest. Her whole career was predicated on playing the race card.

McCafee is that dude who 1.Has that contract they owe him TOO MUCH MONEY to cut the show. 2. McCaffee also doesn’t need the ESPN platform 3. He has the leverage that ESPN has always have over the shows/employees. So somebody owes you millions & still have to pay, if he leaves they’ll get clapped ratings wise and he’ll get paid on top of what they owe him, & just doesn’t give a fuck lol Pat is that dude speaking for everyone that ESPN silences
