of course! hey im trying to build one of these for my dad right now too. i want it bluetooth, and was also thinking of making it battery powered so its portable. but i have some questions on the build steps. can you help me get this all ironed out?
@essef.
@essef. 7 жыл бұрын
Jason Bigler Hi Jason. You'll need a bt module hooked up to the power and passing audio into the amp, if its this kit. If its a fresh build just buy a bt amp to replace the amp shown here and voila! Go Kirby! And Jen!

The amp in this kit has built in Bluetooth! No need for a separate Bluetooth module. Thanks!

Kirby! Jen is GREAT! So much fun watching Jen figure out your kit. I hope you were taking notes too. The scene with the cloth and center punch and drill was a microcosm of the people buying your kits. Loved it. I bet Jen will wow us all with the next kit she does.

Jen is truly lovely, and a nice addition to your channel. Welcome, Jen! Any thought about a truly wireless Bluetooth speaker system, perhaps using rechargeable batteries, that we discussed a while back, where the second (slave) speaker gets its audio channel via a Bluetooth connection with the first (master) speaker?

Great job..! Nice kit..! Tried the links in description - did not work. As a wood worker myself of well over 30yrs may I make a suggestion on the use of pine. Although its an easy wood to machine as well as affordable paying close attention to grain pattern is key to make sure when people order this kit with wood that when they receive it - it has remained flat. Not saying it will warp but it is a high possibilty. After a board is cut milled and tooled the internal stress of the wood has changed. Shipping from part of the country to another will affect its humidity content etc promoting lots of movement within the grain. Maybe mdf would be a better choice and have different options for how they they want to finish it with veneer etc. Just trying to help an already great idea and kit. Keep building amd having fun. I enjoy your vids..!

Nice to show how someone with little experience can build your kits. Great idea. There was a lot of loose wires inside. Could you clean up the wiring by moving the controls on the back panel so the amp board can be mounted to the back panel so you could bundle (zip tie) most of the wires?

I gotta say you've done a great job with your brand. I've worked in SEO, web dev and know a little about it. You're hinting all the key points. Keep it up and I hope it's working out great for you. Kirby, love your videos. I have a question regarding the on/off switch used. I'm using the same amp board and when connecting the on/off switch, it only seems to function when running on battery power. When the board is plugged into the wall it remains on and the switch does not function. Any clues?

what is all that wire for? is there a video about that part?
@joewilliams4198
@joewilliams4198 6 жыл бұрын
illBeets i don’t think he’s gonna reply so I will reply for him. The copper coil is an essential part of the speaker crossover. A crossover separates the frequencies from 20hz to usually around 3000 he and then from around 3000hz up. The lower frequencies go to the bigger speaker, and the higher frequencies go to the smaller speaker, the tweeter. The copper coil separates the lower frequencies.

Hey, I'm new to the speaker building world.. I'm doing my first diy build from scratch (done a couple builds repurposing components from Bluetooth speakers that had blown speakers) I bought some PAM8403 amps and a Bluetooth decoder board but I'm running into a few different issues that are probably easy fixes for an experienced person like you... is there a way I can get advice from you through email or something and I'll describe the issues?

@gerrym4377 7 жыл бұрын
Darla Sadler you are not just paying for components but for the r&d into the unit as a whole, the design, both physical and electronic and the time it takes the craftsman to select and pre cut the timber as well as all of the expensive specialist tools to facilitate it. If you can do that yourself with the skills and tools you have then you will be able to make it for less. If you don't have that then you must expect to pay more for someone like Kirby to do all of the hard bits for you. Huge value in that. Hope that helps mate 👍☺️
