It’s actually illegal to impersonate an attorney or legal firm- the person that does can be sued by the Bar. Attorneys have to be licensed in the state they are practicing/writing letters in too…yeah all bad. And definitely do not email on the weekend, you’d be served by certified mail at the very least, not an email.

Using official LAW FIRM letterhead for your own personal gain and FRAUD is ILLEGAL. If this is a real firm, I’d contact them and provide a copy. They will deal with it.

Lawyers are lawyers. I am a court certified paralegal in Oregon, there are very strict laws on what we can say and do. Giving legal advice without being a licensed bar member is a BIG no no

AS IF! I know 6th graders who could write a better cease & desist letter. And they would probably have the common sense to mail it certified mail. And since her letter has no legal grounds, she is actually harassing you, and that does have legal merit. No REAL lawyer is going to include their client's mother's health in their letter, 1,000% irrelevant, no one cares. I didn't know there was such a thing as a "Fiver Lawyer." That's too funny! we have attorneys on standby due to a number of rental properties and a serious issue with evictions lately..and we have a number of properties in trusts. We are friends with our lawyers, we are close to them. Not ONE of them would be sending an email on a weekend. Secondly, defamation is when one speaks wrongly about another. When what says it true and verifiable, it is not defamation.

Thanks for all you do for the good of all us. I was just scammed on mercari, and I have no recourse. Most people don't understand that what you are doing is a really good thing. Sadly not all scammers will be found out, but at least someone is talking about it so that is helpful to try to prevent future scams.

I have had 2 attorney’s. One for guardianship, whom I’m now done with. And she never responded on the weekends. The other one I’m still using due to being in court with the ex husband for 2 years. When I needed him to fill out a form for a QDRO and would t listen to me, my attorney sent a demand letter and it was sent via certified mail. And they also don’t work on the weekends. Yikes! 🤦🏽‍♀️

Anyone can send a cease and desist. You don't have to do it through an attorney. So regardless the cease and desist is legit. However, all cease and desist letters have no legal standing. Its like a nice kindergarten equivalent of "stop I dont like that". She wasted money. She obviously doesnt have a real attorney as she always says she does. What a joke. I believe we can conclude she doesnt have a real attorney, even though she threatens that she does. She hired someone to do it because she didnt want you to make fun of the way she botches the english language. Of course had she written it on her own it would've been one run on sentence.

The NJ address looks like a condominium with store fronts on the first floor. When you google their suite (#C4) the closet thing to that is a one bedroom apartment in that building. I saw the FedEx drop box and thought they might be using that as a mailing address at first. The address in the Bronx doesn’t list the law firm. Seriously, if she wanted this to look legit why didn’t she have her attorney actually send you a real letter. It probably wouldn’t have cost much more than a couple of hundred dollars if he didn’t have to actually research your address himself.

Example: If I’m licensed to practice law in Oregon and Texas, I can’t represent in a different state to practice law.
