Hi Leanna, I used 199 blocks, there is a mix of regular jenga and smaller jenga. You need wood dowels for the antlers, and bells for the tips. I had a small piece of fur which was used for the tail. I used a Dollar Tree mens scarf and cut down to size. I used gel wood stain from hardware store. Black paint from DT for tips of feet. One glass vase filler painted red for nose. Thank you ☺️

How do you get them so straight like the legs for instance? I tried making your windmill, but doubled the legs like you did here and they ended up all wonky and crooked even though I used my framing square. It is cause they are all different sizes. Do you separate the blocks prior to building and group them by matching sizes?

DT only had one size here in Sacramento. 5 Below has bigger ones but you say to use the DT ones, I am very confused andI made it with the DT ones until I got to the snout which calls for mini. Did you use the dollar tree little blocks or the bigger blocks? I’m using the bigger blocks like the Jenga size and the neck is coming out not like yours. It’s coming out too big so I’m not sure what size blocks I should be using. 🤔🤦🏻‍♀️

Good morning Tracy, I used both but here in Canada we have 3 sizes. I have posted a picture on my Facebook page, The Crafty Shopper. I have a picture that shows the dimensions of each one. Unfortunately KZfaq doesn't let me post a picture here. I've heard 2 different things that DT carries 2 sizes but here in Canada we just get the smaller ones. You can make the deer using either sizes with the other one. I've had a few crafters already make it using the only the DT ones aswell as regular ones. The back on the neck is placed showing wider side of the block and front of the neck the blocks are showing the narrow side and the width is smaller than the back, giving that dimensional look, hope that makes sense.

Hi, I used DT minis on part of the face (top of nose), ears and the butt, the rest of the body is regular jenga. You can cut some blocks to accommodate size or use wood cubes (just a thought) I do know a few crafters just used DTs and had zero issues. I did hear that 5 below has regular Jenga on sale. Hope that helps. Thank you ☺️

@thecraftyshopper4007

Sometimes the blocks are a little off in size. Try matching the legs along lining them up against the ruler to make sure they are even. When using weld bond, I left them over night before I even touched them. The minis as I referred to them at the time are the DT blocks. I do have another tutorial using just DT blocks for the head. They are the same format (number of blocks) as this reindeer. Nose is a glass vase filler spray and painted red.

@thecraftyshopper4007

Hi, I'm in Canada and I've only seen the minis, as I call them from DT. Another dollar store caries 2 different bigger sizes. Like I tell everyone , the Crafty is still doing but will be a little smaller on a scale of size. But with the face part, you can either cut the DT ones shorter to accommodate to dimensional part of the face or you could always use wood cubes ☺️

Well I'm still trying to figure this out. I've have been told by some crafters their is 2 sizes sold in DT, I've only seen one size. So I am referring the ones I use as mini. Now, if you want to do the face, like the one I used, you can use the minis but you will have to cut some pieces to give it that 3D dimensional look , you can also improvise with wood cubes. Hope that helps !

Hi Jill, I used part DT ones and a little smaller than the regular size ones. Here in Canada we have 3 sizes. I have only seen the one size of jenga at DT, I call them minis because they are smaller than the 2 other sizes we can get. Now I have heard from fellow US crafters that you can get them at 5 below, also heard some crafters can get them at Walmart. But you can use all DT ones. The only difference will be the size of the reindeer. I've already seen a few crafters make them with only the DT ones. You will just have to play around with it, you could also use little wood cubes too. Hood that helps, I do have a picture up on my Facebook page, The Crafty Shopper. It has a picture of the sizes of jenga blocks used. ☺️. Thank you ❤️

I am in the midst of creating my reindeer. I am in Canada. I have searched DT & DR but cannot find the mini blocks you are referring to. How would you suggest I create this using the DR Tumbling Tower blocks? I thought of cutting them down to size but not sure how much smaller they are. Do you have length of regular and mini? The size I currently have are 2.5” long. Help 😊

@@Jae-Man0999 hi Kristie, Dollarama Rama carries 2 sizes of jenga blocks/aka tumbling tower. I have a picture with sizes of the blocks on my The Crafty Shopper FB page. You can use the regular tumbling tower blocks only, you just have to play around with them to adjust them. Send me a pm on my FB page and I'll see if I can figure it out with Rama's only . I can't send pictures on KZfaq plateform.

Hi Sherri, I'm in Canada, we have 3 different sizes from different dollar stores. I used a mix of regular size jenga from another dollar store and Dollar Tree ones. I refer to minis as they are smaller than the others. The craft is still doable, it will just be smaller. As for the face, you cut the DT ones or use wood blocks to give that dimensional effect. Hope that helps. Have a great day and thank you ☺️

Here in the states the size of our Dollar Tree Jenga blocks are like the size of your Minis so how would you recommend changing the pattern to fit more of the smaller size Jenga blocks so that it would come out right? I'm just curious cuz I'm at my daughter's right now with my granddaughter and I would love to make her one of these real quick before I go home before Christmas so she can enjoy between Thanksgiving and Christmas and I'll be back

Hi Jill, thank you 🙏. I would have to play around with it but my first thought to make a dimensional face would be to cut some jenga pieces down, the little hand saw world from DT. Plus you could use some wood cubes aswell for certain spots ☺️. Please let me know how it goes ❤️

Hi Jason, I'm in Canada and I'm able to find 3 different sizes. I believe the mini are the DT ones but I've also been told DT sells to different sizes, I'm not sure if that's only in the US. In Dollarama here in Canada, they sell the regular size ones and one size smaller. Regardless of size of the jenga it's still will work as many crafters made my other crafts using the DT ones. The only thing you will have to do is cut down the DT ones in order to get the 3D effect for the face. I hope that makes sense 😀
