SAS stands for Special Air Service; it's the British special forces. Many of them went on to become spys (like the CIA recruiting Navy Seals). There's thread around that this is what became of James Bond. After having seen at least one of the original Bond movies, it's an interesting thought!
@davidburke2132
@davidburke2132 Жыл бұрын
Just to clarify the SAS is just a part of the British special forces. There are other specialist regiments in addition, such as the SBS (the Special Boat Service, which is part of the Royal Navy in a similar way as the SAS is an army regiment), the Special Reconnaissance Regiment, etc.
@Patriiiiick

Also, fun fact, Christopher Lee was a member of the precursor to the SAS.
@davidburke2132
@davidburke2132 Жыл бұрын
@@Patriiiiick I think he was a member of the Special Operations Executive, which ran in parallel to the SAS during WWII (the two organisations certainly existed in parallel at the same time during the war). Whilst they both carried out clandestine missions behind enemy line the SAS was, and still is, much more conventional in its military structure and recruitment, the SOE were considered “irregulars”.

There isnt that many sas who become spies. They tend to be recruited from different backgrounds. The theory about Mason being Bond cant be true unfortunately as it leaves out some key issues. Bond reached the level of Commander in the Royal Navy and was 42 before leaving and entering MI6. He would have had to complete SAS training in between. I think I'm right that no one of that age has completed training and no one already at the rank of commander has joined the sas because it is one of the few regiments where you dont maintain rank. With Bond having a greater affinity with Naval warfare he more likely would have joined SBS as well. Given all the inconsistencies, by the time he would have been caught he would have to be in his late 60s already. It would have been at a time when Thatcher and Reagan were in power and all actions against each other were dropped because of the so called "special relationship"

As the movie began, the music was maddeningly familiar. My suspicions were correct, in a way. This was scored by Hans Zimmer and he was responsible for helping Klaus Badelt relocate in '98. In 2003 Badelt penned the music for the 1st Pirates of the Caribbean and Zimmer took over the scoring of each subsequent Pirates film.

Others have already clarified what the SAS is, as the most noted and renowned part of the British special forces. They are one of the most capable and respected special forces regiments in the world. They were a well kept secret until 1980 (by which point they’d already been in existence for nearly 40 years) when they carried out the counter-terrorism mission to retake the Iranian embassy in London and rescue hostages after it had been taken over by terrorists. Their mission was basically carried out in front of the world’s journalists and tv cameras and brought them to world-wide attention. There’s a really great movie about that mission and the events around it that was released in 2017 called “6 Days”. You should watch it and react to it 😃

I know they showed that to have a cool scene with him by showing what he did to escape. However, he rolled through there to unlock the door from the other side and let the soldiers in. When he was escaping, he would have started out on that side where the door could be unlocked and wouldn't have needed to go through the flames in the first place.

Was in the military for like a minute but was trained as a NBC specialist (nuclear biological chemical), mostly to instruct others in how to protect, detect, and decontaminate from NBC attacks/exposure, and yes there are needles you would take if exposed, but there's no reason or circumstances that require you to inject your heart, you'd instead inject into the meaty part of your thigh or butt, there are also two not one needles, and while the needle itself does shoot out you never do that before injection, you place the "pen" to the site and basically squeeze and hold for a while before removing.

To think that some may think The Rock is secretly a "Bond" film because of Sean Connery's presence, KZfaqr and Bond Fanatic Pentex Productions made a whole theory proving that John Mason is James Bond, a fan theory timeline that would prove all this. So, here's the Fan Theory Timeline: -Early 1962: James Bond defeats Dr. No on July of that year. But was mistakenly arrested by the US Navy and incarcerated in Alcatraz while still holding his alias "John Mason". He escaped only 6 months later in January 1963. Because Alcatraz would eventually be closed off in March of that same year. -1963: Bond returns to service to the OHMSS/MI6 after his 6-month disappearance after the events of Dr. No because of him being jailed in Alcatraz. -1963 to 1971: Bond continues serving as 007 for 8 years up until his final on-screen (as Connery) mission in 1971 in Diamonds Are Forever, ending in San Francisco. -Late 1971: Bond would later go undercover again as "John Mason", infiltrates the FBI where he befriends Womack while looking for the Microfilm. -May 2, 1972: J Edgar Hoover, the head of the FBI, Dies. Leaving a leadership vaccum. -June 6, 1972: Bond met a woman during a "Led Zeppelin" concert, has a one night stand and gets her pregnant. She would eventually become Jade Angelou's mother in the later years. Bond decided to retire once for all, not until M tasked him with one last mission after agreeing on his retirement plan. By stealing the Microfilm. -Later 1972: Bond as John Mason, steals the Microfilm and stashes it in a Church in Fort Walton, Kansas before fleeing for the Canadian border, until he was once again...captured and jailed for good. Incarcerated for the next 23 years without giving up the location of the stolen microfilm and nor his true identity. 1995: Events of The Rock take place, and Bond while still holding the name John Mason would later work alongside with Stanley Goodspeed and the SEALs to stop Hummel's plans once and for all. After the dust settles, he gives Goodspeed a note containing the real location of the Microfilm only for himself as a "Thank You" gift for ensuring his fake death, there he can finally be free. Mason/Bond goes away one last time, and becomes MIA forever, but in FBI's records...he would be listed as "Killed in Action", thanks to Goodspeed's actions.

Hello. I noticed you turned off the comments to you're reaction to United 93 video, so I figured I would post my comment on this video. I just wanted to say thank you for your reaction, and the fundraiser. I am a family member of one of the victims who died in one of the towers. Brian Nunez was his name. He was my Uncle. He was able to leave us a voice mail as the tower was falling, and telling us he loves us. I just wanted to let you know me, and my family thank you for you're reaction, and support. Please take care, and Cherish the ones you love.

This was a good fun watch, I’m glad you enjoyed it, so many great action films you need to watch involving Nick Cage and Sean Connery, also Ed Harris plays in a lot of great films one of them was Enemy at the Gates, he plays another great villain. I hope you react to that movie someday, you’ll definitely like it a lot, very suspenseful and based on a real life soldier.

Finally someone watches this movie. It's such an underrated action film. Everyone is great in it and i especially love Ed Harris character because sympathetic villains are the best. The movie is so good i often wonder if Michael Bay really directed it, though you can see his style all over that car chase sequence. If you want see the best Nicolas Cage movie watch "Lord of War" with him, Jared Leto and Ethan Hawke. It's not really action, it's a serious movie and about a subject you never see in movies at all; in fact they had to procure outside finance for it because Hollywood did not want to touch it. Amazing movie, the cinematography in particular is excellent and really fun.

I honestly don't think people on the internet know what the word "underrated" means. This is a highly rated action flick. I don't know anyone who doesn't like it. Also Leaving Las Vegas is the best Nick Cage movie.

@@deathtoraiden2080 proving my point. "Forgotten" doesn't mean "underrated". And even then, no one over 35 "memory holed" this movie. Here, I'll give you an example. Michael Bay is an underrated director. That means he's better than people think he is. Yes, he has the crampy Transformer movies on his resume (although I'd argue the first one is solid). But he also has movies like this, Bad Boys, and Armageddon.

Ok Jen. There is a classic movie that I think you might enjoy. The Great Escape. Takes place in a World War II German prisoner of war camp. There are prisoners from several different allied countries. All working and plotting to escape and drive the germans crazy. Not as gory as a lot of war movies, but you will probably find yourself really caught up in the characters and their efforts. Great cast of stars. Give it a try.

The SAS is our elite special forces regiment of the army in the UK. A great film loosely based around an actual terrorist incident in the UK is called "Who Dares Wins," which is the motto of the SAS. x

Awesome review of an awesome movie that NEVER gets old after watching it about a ga-billion times throughout the years!! Saw it when it first came out in the theaters and still watch it today. A few really good ACTION movies you should consider: Con -Air (Nicholas Cage) Executive Decision (Kurt Russell) Air Force One (Harrison Ford) All 3 movies are AIRPLANE oriented and pretty much non-stop kick-butt action.
