Having watched Jenna in both "Doctor Who" and "Victoria", I was interested in seeing her in a much different role here. She did not disappoint. The DVD's were just released here in the US in the first week of 2020. A little hard to keep up with at first, as it goes back, forth and sideways several times, but comes to a satisfying enough conclusion. A well-deserved International Emmy nomination for Jenna. Great work! But next time, I'll drive.

Whether she plays the Queen, or Clara, or this, which appears to be a departure from what we've seen of her over here in the US, Jenna seems to always have a good sense of self and that little bit of mystery about her. And, she's lovely; someone you would want to have at your side. But then, she's the Impossible Girl, right?

The sense of mystery around Jenna is one of the reasons why I'm both attracted to her and terrified of her at the same time. Despite her size, she has a unique sense of power which seems to be a combination of fortitude, determination and intelligence. There's a scene in Victoria where she's screaming in pain while Victoria gives birth but still somehow manages to make "tell them to go away" sound like a command that only a fool would ignore.

Jenna pretty accurately summed up how I feel about her in the first 20 seconds. I really like her and I want to trust her but she's just too good to be true and I find that intimidating. I got to know Clara Oswald and Queen Victoria intimately but I don't know Jenna Coleman at all. She's so reserved and careful about what she says and how she conducts herself that I can't tell how much of it is actually her and how much of it is an act. Her true nature is shrouded in mystery which is both attractive and terrifying at the same time. Marlon Brando, may he rest in peace, once said there is a "twisted mind that lies beneath the surface of all humans" and I think he was right, which is why I can't trust someone who seems to be perfect.
