E4 So glad you’re enjoying this series! This is one of my favorite episodes! No doubt you’ve already heard that Jenna Ortega choreographed Wednesday’s dance on her own. Enid and Ajax’s kiss was so romantic, and I was so glad they finally talked about the date that didn’t happen to clarify their feelings for each other. Eugene is part of my top 10 favorite characters, so I was horrified and fearful about his fate after the attack that I was literally hoping he was only injured and not dead. E5 My favorite moment of this episode was discovering what actually happened the night Gomez was accused of the murder. I knew that either he acted out of self defense or that he’s covering for someone else. But the fact that Garrett was already dying and was planning to murder the entire school on his father’s orders was what surprised me. And I’m so glad that Wednesday was able to figure out the principal’s ability to shape shift. My guess with Bianca’s backstory was that maybe she used her siren song to persuade the principal to let her in as a student under her new identity. And the fact that her mother mentioned that her siren song was drying up, I’m guessing either her hypnotism on Bianca’s stepfather was about to break, and she doesn’t have enough strength to keep going or if she needed Bianca to renew it. Also I love how Enid confronted her mother about accepting her regardless of ability to wolf out and that her father proudly supported her regardless. I was glad to see that Eugene was on the mend and to meet his family. 👧🏻💃🏻👹🩸👨🏻👩🏻⚔️☠️🔥

The siren is a relatively rare monster trope for our recent film and TV consumption. Compared to vampires and werewolves it is hard to find recent iterations of sirens. They appear briefly in pirate stories and other Marine lore . They're not usually the center of the narrative . Mind control is a pretty scary superpower . Anthony Fremont was a little boy who could control people with his mind in season 3 episode 8 of The Twilight Zone. He had a malevolent, terrifying control of everybody around him. The only other such monster that I can think of is Kilgrave (not a siren) from season 1 of Jessica Jones on Netflix. Actually the scariest monster of all.

the dance scene is probably the best part of the series, though I was very let down that the whole 'she wouldn't believe us' plot twist was that Morticia accidentally killed Garrett Gates and Gomez took the fall, because that was extremely believable I was hoping for more of a twist like him stabbing himself to frame Gomez. Young Gomez and Moriticia feel more like young movie versions (Anjelica Hutson and Raul Julia) as well
