Julian’s first mistake was not editing over Jenna’s “33 year old lady” 😂

Okay so I made this soup and I spent like six and a half hours on it and it was absolutely killer (but I did use animal based stuff) but I have some opinions that my happy home cook ass just wants to shout into the void because none of my family finds this as entertaining and fascinating as I do. So first off, it was absolutely 100% worth making the homemade pasta, the texture in the soup was unlike anything that I have ever had in a soup, it was freaking amazing. But for the love of all that is holy, if you are making this by yourself, and do not have anyone in the kitchen making it with you, do not go with the tiny balls of pasta. Experiment with different shapes because my hands were cramping so bad, and it took up SO MUCH TIME. But the hand made fresh pasta was the best decisions I have ever made. I also just threw the pasta into the pot instead of cooking it before hand. (And yes they were made with hate, it adds flavor.) I also made my own meatballs, which was super fun, but I accidentally made WAY TOO FREAKKNG MUCH because I overestimated how much meat I would need for a few dozen tiny meatballs, I used a combination of ground beef and some random sausage I found in our family’s deep freezer. The leftover meatballs froze and I used them for several dishes later on (seriously, adding stuff like Italian sausage or bratwurst to your meatballs or lasagna or any kind of meat dish is a game changer passed down from my grandmother, you’ll never go back.) I also highly recommend just bringing a chair into the kitchen by the counter if you’re doing it on your own, especially if you have tall counters and barstools like I have. Your back will thank you. Also this soup would be SO FUN to make with family but I just haven’t had a chance to make it with family. The only vegetables that I used were the holy trinity (onion, celery, carrots) for this soup because we had no spinach in the house, but honestly if anyone else is insane enough to try this recreate this soup I would love to hear what other people put into it to try and personalize it but honestly I am not sure if there would be anything as good, it’s pretty damn perfect as it is. Honestly it’s one of my favorite soups and favorite meals, and I hope that someone else actually makes it.
