I think Jennifer Lopez was the only person that could’ve done Selena justice. This tribute was amazing! Like previous poster said, Jennifer was not trying to sound like Selena… She doesn’t have to she’s J Lo. It was a tribute to honor her by singing her songs. And she did a phenomenal job.! RIP to the tejano Queen ❤❤❤

Amen, I am AN 83 yr old gringo, the movie “Selena” represents 100% AMERICANA. That movie portrays an American family, that movie is about as American as APPLE PIE, BASE BALL & CHEVROLETS. Had Selena lived past her 23rd birthday, this young woman was cheated out of her privilege to grow old, I know this & have lived & experienced this privilege at 83. My hat is off to Jennifer Lopez for bringing Selena to the “big” screen. You said you were 5yrs old, this is precisely the reason this movie should Be a mandatory viewing in our school systems for 2nd & 3rd graders to see 1st hand how an American family functions, because the “family” structure is the foundation of this UNITED STATES of AMERICA. No family, no country ! GOD BLESS YOU tarah ! O.G. (I am the 83 yr old original genius)

Nobody could have ever brought this to all of us in a way that shows love courage and respect to Selena and her gift if Jlo hadn't done this movie I would have not known anything about Selena at all so thanks to Jennifer Lopez for doing a wonderful thing for a wonderful person like Selena that will never be forgotten RIP Selena thanks to Jlo

SELENA fue quien dio vida a JLO , sin esa pelicula su carrera estaba encerrada ya habia realizado otras producciones que no habian tenido gran exito, despues de realizar film selena, se le abrieron puertas en cine y opta por ser cantante. si estuviese Selena viva sin duda seria la reina de la musica global y no estariamos escuchando tanta mujer creyendose reina de la musica latina con pesimas voces arregladas con aitotune estilo divas de calle vulgares.Sin duda selena es quien puso la vara muy alta para toda mujer en cuestion musical con raices latinas, ninguna latina puede decir que la ha superado pues muchas cantan pop and rock generos no latinos, selena de habla inglesa interpreto diversos generos latinos y asi mismo llego a ser numero 1 en latino pero su crosover a ingles debuto 1 lugar abriendo puertas a latinos. Han pasado muchos años de su asesinato pero su imagen sigue muy viva, tanto que ya paso de la musica a articulos diversos y cada dia crecen mas sus fans, prueba de ello los homenajes en su honor, premios otorgados postumos, estatuas con sus medidas y exposicion de su vida en museos y muchas mas cosas que son la cosecha de lo que sembró con solo 23 años de vida y 14 de carrera musical. JLO siempre agradece a selena por su aporte como artista y ser humano, creo que ella supo interpretar a esa selena humana real cercana a su publico, parece que jlo es la hija que selena no logro tener por su obligado adiós

Jennifer Lopez always had incredible Drive nothing was going to stop her and I do think that this was a pivotal role for her and one of her best rolls that she ever played and I do think she was highly influenced by the legacy of Selena however, I think no matter what Jlo was gonna make it. I think that I think that’s the reason that she won the role because of her drive and determination.

This tribute was absolutely gorgeous! I discovered Selena from an interview she did on the Christina Spanish talk show. I thought what an amazing, beautiful sweet soul she is...fell in love with her music. Then she was gone...taken away by a selfish human being. It was so sad because she was young but more so because she was taken from her family much too soon and in the worst possible way. I am happy that her music lives on and JLO did such an amazing job. You can see and feel the heartfelt genuine appreciation she has for her. Her family also appreciated it. RIP Selena ❤

Y aun hay personas que dicen que jlo no canta. Su voz ha mejorado muchísimo, y sus notas altas con melismas son tan limpias, que no desafinó en ningún momento. Un aplauso para jennifer López que hizo la interpretación suya y pudo darle un homenaje de calidad a selena. 👏🏻

wow Vocalmente hablando. Jlo superó mis espectativas. Para los que dicen que Jlo no canta, no solo se atrevió sino que cantó fenomenalmente bien. Ya va a cumplir casi 28 años q se fue selena y aun vive en nuestros corazones , veo este lindo tributo q jl le hiso a selena y q lindo cris perez, como se seca su sudor , que sabe q paso x su mente en ese momento , pero aver estado allí y oyendo la música q interpretaba su esposa a deber sido emocionante . Fue muy lindo este tributo. El amor de cris hacia selena fue muy bello solo dios sabe x q los separo tan jóvenes .

Pues yo considero que no, porque a nivel vocal, ecenico, iterprete, fisico, humildad, valores, etc no tiene eso que si la tenia Selena, y considero que el legado que dejo a sus 23 años, no lo a podido superar jlo que ya tiene 54, esta mujer dejo una marca que dudo que alguien pueda superar, como artista y como ser humano, asi que ella no puede llenar el lugar de una Reyna.

No she’s not as strong of a singer as Selena but this performance was still beautiful. You can tell that Chris and her siblings enjoyed the performance from the priceless smiles and looks of emotions all over their faces… it’s a gift to them from Jlo, really. And she WASNT trying to sing like Selena.. she was singing like jlo and there’s nothing wrong with that at all. This gave me chills, honestly because I know it feels to lose a sibling and trust me her- siblings are grateful to jlo to have done this.

Jennifer Lopez is Jennifer Lopez and Selena is Selena!!! All you diehard Selena fans compare Jennifer Lopez with Selena only because of the movie. If it wasn’t for the movie, I would’ve never heard about Selena. She was only really famous in the Tex-Mex world. Now she’s famous worldwide and deservedly so. That woman who took her life is the one you need to be hating on… Not Jennifer!!! Jennifer Lopez was fantastic in that movie, and Selena would have been so proud and honored, as Jennifer was to play her in that epic movie! Her tribute to her was amazing and spot on, but of course she is not Selena, and never claim to be so stop making her out to be the bogeyman because she’s not!
