Ms. Packer's paintings carries an energy that is very near DIVINE; Art for me connects me to the SOURCE of this divine energy. I am honored to journey with Ms. Packer in this process. THANK YOU MS. PACKER! THANK YOU WHITNEY MUSEUM! AND THANK YOU MS. PANETTA!

I’ve yet to paintings that depict and express such feeling without explicit imagery. And I’ve seen thousands of artists from all over the world. Packer’s works are so engaging they take your breath away … they are “breathless.”

The painting of Eric Mack is stunning! I love how Jennifer Packer painted out the feeling instead of paint to look real! It creates a sense that makes me feel like I know this ‘Eric’. The way he dresses, his gesture, recalls my ‘Eric’. So personal, so intimacy.

Thank you for your story ofindividual pictures. This makes sense ie to tell a story not only about the exhibition/artist, but also about single paintings (going narrow instead of broad).

I went into this video hopeful and skeptical, because of her use of a part of scripture as the title for her exhibition. I think she misinterpreted the scripture and even then, I don't understand how her paintings communicate her understanding of it. I also don't understand how the first painting supposedly reflects trauma or intensity. Yellow is a color usually associated with the sun and similar things. It's usually considered happy, and she used a pale variation on top of that. Maybe it would feel more "intense" if she used a more saturated yellow. I like how she painted the couch though. And her textures. I'm happy that she didn't mock or trash the scripture "ironically". The respect is greatly appreciated. Especially in these times.

Gorgeous work. However, what is the degree to which we leave interpretation up to the artist? I barely get a sense of southern blackness from the Breonna Taylor painting. Philadelphia is still culturally East Coast. And still bound to coastal elitism.

There is "good art" and "bad art". It never ceases to amaze me the poor judgment and poor taste that so many museums and galleries reveal by arranging large exhibits of bad art. I have extensive credentials in fine art backing up this viewpoint, and do not wish to "debate" anything. I do not like anything about these paintings.

If you are going to test people of their behaviour you need to ensure that your stance is one of truth and integrity, otherwise your interaction is actually stimulated a position of diminished responsibility, which makes you the cause and the effect of the very things your highlighting and complaining about...... total None sense!!
