So for me the original makes me feel like it's a teenager that is angry at the world and FIR's version is an adult screaming for help...

I just find it absolutely crazy how different this song is from the original!!! He is truly brilliant. I have to agree, I have heard this song hundreds of times over the years through teen years especially, and I never really processed the lyrics and really the message of the song. I’m actually really glad he reinterpreted the song and put his own twist on it to make it creative and just very Ronnie, because I got to actually hear the song fully and truly understand it. Also, I just love how complex and original and just cinematic FIR videos are, they amaze me every time!! We can always count on them to create a masterpiece that feels like it’s taking everyone on a journey or through a story somehow. Glad you got to react to it, you offer excellent insights 😊

Just for the record, I surmise that the majority really enjoy your in depth analysis and the time you spend explaining all the things. I know Ronnie is not a fan of the "Nerdy" reactions but when you really are that good (Ronnie) his fans want to know all the hows and why's. Keep up the great commentary you offer, it is up there among the best. More Ronnie please!!

The beginning you are literally falling in reverse as you are upside down. This is the song by Papa Roach - Last Resort. They toured together last year (I got to see them live) and I think Ronnie really wanted to take on his own interpretation of it

This is stunning both visually and vocally as well as incredibly moving. I will be watching this again as I'm sure I missed a lot. So much symbolism in the video. It's truly a cry for help and his voice makes you feel it. It's a difficult subject and very real, I do like that at the end things are in reverse. Everything around him is "falling" back into place. So much to take in here and as always, great job with your analysis. I'm glad you clarified that the bird was NOT in there with you. 😆

Jennifer! Catching up. Oh another FIR reaction! Well the first one was interesting. You're right, the videos are a full production. The imagery, especially near the end of this one where everything is just falling apart is spectacular. And then, at the very end everything is, well, falling in reverse! And as usual you notice the little details that sail right by me. The little voice flips! Once you pointed out the first, I was hearing the rest. Oh and that cheeky 100k plaque sitting there. 😁 I bet that bird flew by just to have a look! 😅 Great reaction and analysis as always Jennifer. 😊

I love your insight in to the vocal performance that is on display here! And you definitely caught what I did at the end in the visual aspect! The video was a direct continuation to Watch the World Burn… My interpretation is that Ronnie was the only person left after lighting the world on fire, and the grey city was the wasteland in the aftermath! This song and the lyrics were about reflecting on what he had done and how he handled everything… he wasn’t/isn’t alright, and he put the world back together after realizing he was wrong… his last resort was to set the world on fire, and he regretted it, so he put it back… that is why the final imagery was the exact opposite of WTWB… and you caught how it was in “Reverse” and the ruble was “falling in reverse!” Such a genius way to connect it all together!

@inceptionsd
@inceptionsd Жыл бұрын
This type of screaming is actually called "vocal break" screaming. It is done by alternating your voice between chest and head, dialing in that vocal break and adding compression. False folds are engaged, as well, but it is not purely a false fold scream.

Here is a brief summary of my opinion the videos of falling in reverse, as far as i could observe, always represent a context. many of the videos are a continuation of the previous video. in this particular case "watch the world burn" is the processing of anger and rage.... settling accounts with the world and rising up as a worldender.... who doesn't know it when anger overcomes you? last resort is shown in the style of inception ... the lowest dream level ... the subconscious or the self ... so really the last point of retreat... when you really want to hit the nerdy stuff: Carl Gustav Jung had thematized in his works the shadow, which harbors everything negative and socially inappropriate. In order to heal psychologically as an individual, shadow work involves accepting one's negative/bad sides and integrating them into one's life in a constructive way. to become who you have always been, to accept who you are without shame and regret. both videos together, therefore, represent the processing process and last resort especially the healing.... because when there is no one left to blame.... you start to look for the mistakes in yourself... when you realize that you can't go on like this ("can't go on living this way") and that you have suppressed everything so far... the healing process begins. Figuratively the world from this point on does not disintegrate further and is rebuilt ... or the fires that were set during "watch the world burn" are extinguished again. no idea if someone still sees it that way or it was actually the idea behind it... for me at least it makes sense... Ronny is a damn genius

Hey Jennifer your analysis is great I'm seeing people are thankful to know your breakdown on how singers do it! But my only suggestion(not criticism) is plz listen the song with us first meanwhile gathering the points that you discuss in your analysis...this way we'll see you feel the emotion of the song first and the appreciation you'll have for the song at the end! Getting straight into the analysis and frequent pauses, I think it can disconnect people from the emotion and lyricism the composition has to offer! There must be many subscribers who're listening this song for the very first time through your video...I want to see the song doing it's magic on you and the people together! Otherwise as a metal singer myself your way of analyzing a song is wonderful keep up!

You really should check out Spencer Charnas from Ice Nine Kills. He has a very similar range and crazy ability for amazing quality and range in his cleans while being able to go in and out of some very brutal screams. Not many people have done vocal analysis on him and Ice Nine Kills is my favorite band. A good song to start on would be It's Hip to be Scared. It's the first song in a series from their newest album. I think you'd really enjoy them!

I think reactions and analasys are polar opposites to one another. An analasys is a rational while a reaction is emotional. And while the analysis is on point, i don't see how one could react to a song listened to in 5 second increments.
@AjayMomma
@AjayMomma Жыл бұрын
My interpretation... even though the lyrics stay somber.. the pick up in the singing, the buildings fixing themselves, then the "Watch the World Burn," reverse, makes it seem like he is going to keep going. The song doesn't say someone told him he's fine, but maybe that did happen. That or he realized that, though he's still depressed because that's not something that just goes away, he's fine enough to keep going. That's from nothing other than my personal speculation.
