Sublimation is SO cool, but the requirement to always use polyester is frustrating. A couple of months ago we talked about several different ways to sublimate on cotton, and I shared the cotton sublimation techniques that worked the best (and lasted the longest in the wash). So what if I told you I found ANOTHER way to sublimate onto 100% cotton and it didn’t require putting any HTV onto your shirt first? You CAN do it by combining a special film (called DTF film) and transfer powder. In this tutorial, I’m going to show you exactly to sublimate onto a cotton T-shirt using the DTF method at home!
Special thanks to Design Bundles' "HACK ALERT" video for the tips and tricks on this technique -- check out their video at • Sublimation on Cotton ...
I appreciate every subscriber. It's free and easy to subscribe -- just click here: bit.ly/sub2jennifer

I really like “learning” together. It never fails, that no matter how careful I am the first time, I mess up in some way! I talk myself through things like you do. Lol It’s nice knowing I’m not the only one having to figure things out the first time. People generally only post their perfect pieces. You know what would be fun, if we all just posted one of our fails, so we know we have lots of company!

I saw a cool trick on another video for melting the powder. they laid the paper in a cookie tray with a cooling rack folded over it and laid the press on the cooling rack so that you don't have to hold it. I haven't tried it yet, but it beats holding that heavy press over the print. Another trick I've heard is to wait a minimum of 24 hours before washing. Happy sublimating!

I was thinking the same thing….use a jelly roll pan instead of wasting cardstock to apply powder and then (after removing excess), put a cookie cooling rack into the pan over the design.
