I accidentally discovered how to do this a different way for a DYI... paint some masking fluid on your paper shape, such as the circle you used, then sprinkle silver embossing powder and heat set. Works like a charm. Found out I could scratch this off my paper without damaging the paper. And noticed it had that “scratch off “ quality.

Lila must be in heaven over these fantastic Valentine cards! Can you believe I've had these scratch-off stickers in my stash for a long time yet never used them...shame on me LOL! I even think I've got them in silver and gold. However, I never knew that you could make your own and I think that's amazing. Thank you Jennifer and Happy Valentine's Day to your beautiful Lila!

Hi Jennifer! Yes this was definitely helpful. I made 21 Valentine cards for my grandson, and it took a lot longer than these cute ones here that you did. I'll remember this for next year. These are so much fun....and I'm sure the kids will enjoy the interactive feature of this card. Thanks so much for sharing.

Awe shucks. I just finished my 6 grandkids & 6 children’s Valentines. Definitely doing this for their birthday. Thanks also for showing how to make your own. It’s all part of the creation process and explaining how you made it to the kiddos always WOWs them.

Thanks for reminding me of this technique! I used this years ago for a bridal shower game. They were not hard to do and they were a big hit. I love that you can create valentines with this technique!

Thanks for showing. I bought sheets of scratch off paper made by silhouette studios which I love because I can make however big or small I need and they are already sticky. I haven't seen the actual stickers before. I will have to try those next time. I use mine for a lotto stamp set I have. Lol. Thanks again and God bless!!

I have a recipe for scratch off stickers as the paint and shaving cream instead of dish soap. Either will work, I’m sure. Thank you for sharing your tips and ideas. They are very helpful.

This is such a great idea and so timely for me, personally. Just a few hours ago I found a forgotten folder in my craft room and it had scratch-off stickers in it! I am so excited to have a great way to use them, thanks to you. Whew! One less thing to think about.

I just wanted to thank you. I have watched you use foil so many times and wanted so bad to try it. Well I got my Royal Sovereign machine from Amazon today. I ran to my laser printer, printed a heart design, had my machine warming up and foiled a beautiful heart. I know silly right to be this excited but that's how I get when I try something this awesome! I am going to make a Ribbon Slider card now for my Mom. She has Alzheimer's and sadly had to be placed in a care facility. I go care and visit with her and this interactive card will be wonderful for her. This will be a great Valentine's Day card for her. Thank you for your tutorials and inspiration!

Thanks for the download Jennifer. I have tried the wax technique and the contact paper option before and they work too; actually I prefer the contact paper to the packing tape as it gives you more freedom regarding the size and shape of the scratch of. I had no idea there were stickers, thanks for all the tips and ideas! Have a wonderful day!

I have seen the scratch off's before, but I never got around to buying any. Now I don't have to because I can make my own with supplies I already have, thanks to you. And since Valentine's Day is just around the corner, I can use heart-shaped dies for my scratch off shapes. Thanks!

I love this idea. I’m going to try it today. I’m guessing that you are painting the mix onto the shiny side of the clear tape and not to the parchment paper ? Thus when they scratch off it doesn’t scratch down to the card stock at all but just on the tape? I guess I figured it out just by writing it out here, LOL. LOVE your inspiration especially how to make things when I’m serving in a third world country and can’t get all the items like the actual stickers. Blessings!

What a super cute idea for Valentine's cards. I think I will give these a try for my GRANDkid's cards this year...also love the fact that you added dollar coins, which are interesting in themselves. Lovely video. Love all your videos. They help a lot when it comes to DIY & to think on how to use your stamps/dies for future projects. Quick question, when you peeled off the scratch off mix towards the end, did you also picked up the tape & pressed it down onto your card? Or just the mix?
