You are doing very well - as usual - I thought! I love my gel press but have only used it with acrylics so far, so this is a great idea, particularly because you can stamp on the prints with the same inks, as you said. One tip I have is that you can use die cuts and scatter them on your plate to create negative shapes, then use those die cuts because they have matching colours for your cards later. Just one of soooo many options the gel plate offers. Props to Lila! She is a very talented young lady! 😍🥰😘😘

This was great for me. I have been in rehab for a year and a half. Crafting cards has been my saving grace. Today I wanted to make a special card for a special nurse who encourages me a eases my fears. She is very un girly. No pinks purses or glitter. A challenge so blues an greens will be the color of choice. Thank you for great ideas. 💜

Hi Jennifer, these prints you created are stunning. Their simplicity creates dynamic backgrounds. Your daughter's prints are equally beautiful! I asked for a gell press for a Christmas gift, which I did not receive lol! Thank you Jennifer for a fun video. I have seen the gel press with acrylic paint and thought it was very cool. I didn't feel overly inspired to do it then. Now I do! LOL So many techniques that you can combine for new effects - I LOVE that! I laughed when I saw the last card, thinking that was so not your style! But, it would, with a little rearranging, make an adorable layered cake for a birthday!

I got a couple different gel plates last year and have played with acrylic paint and pan pastels on them. But now...my distress inks????? I see a whole day of playtime coming...wheeee! Thanks for all the inspiration you generate...as usual💕

Thanks so much for trying this technique with the gel press plate. I loved your ideas! I absolutely love using the gel press plates. There are so many techniques with all kinds of media that it is a neverending source of creative enjoyment. One way I like to use them is with pan pastels and stencils. After you have applied the pastels through the stencil, remove the stencil, use a brayer to apply a thin layer of a light color of acrylic paint and then lift a print. The pan pastel will last through several prints. The gel press plate has to be cleaned with a little baby oil to remove the last of the pan pastel. I hope you will do more videos using gel press plates.

I have a big and small gel plate. My granddaughter is 3 1/2 years old and loves to make cards with the plates , alcohol inks and glitter. They make the cards all different and very special.

Gel plate mono printing is so incredibly addictive and I’m happy you and Lila are discovering how fun it is. Here are two techniques which have worked for me in the past. 1. Use cheap, white envelopes for brayering off the runoff inks. You may end up with two different sets of colors on each side, but that’s part of the fun for the recipient. And, no one will notice you used inexpensive envelopes. 2. I have rescued awful prints by using glittery embossing paste through a stencil on top and the print is completely transformed. Enjoy your new obsession!

I love the fact you used the Distress Oxide inks for gelli plate printing. Who would of thought we could do this besides using paint. I cannot thank you enough for bringing this out of the box to develop a new technique for backgrounds. I love the style and have multiple stamps and mixed media stencils that I will enjoy doing these backgrounds. Ty you so much!

Yay!! I've been wanting to order a gel press for probably 10 years or so and just never have. Very limited fixed income and my acrylic paints ancient and dried up and in storage. But wow showing me that I can use my distress oxides made me finally go ahead and do it. I love so many other cards that you made and the prints and patterns. I can't wait to dig out my little stash of oxides and go to town. As soon as I pull out my rubber brayer from behind the file cabinet where it fell a long time ago LOL

Yes, please make more of these gel press videos! I have a gel press, but I've never been very comfortable using it... or very happy with the results.But I was using paint. I love the idea of using ink. It's so much easier to do... and less messy! Plus, I love the colors. Thank you!

I too have all the gel plate equipment that sits in a lonely drawer! So you are an inspiration to get it out! Naturally then I would love to see more experimenting with it. The Joggles gal Barb has lots of videos using all kinds of products and combinations to use with a gel plate. I have watched a lot of her videos! I have used acrylics, inks and spray inks on my gelli plate. If you use a stencil, after your first print, add white and then take a second print. The result is amazing. I use a lot of my prints for die cutting, especially butterflies. Happy creating and TFS. Love your work.

Jennifer, you mentioned trying other gel press shapes. You can die cut shapes from copy paper, and place that over your gel plate, then apply ink through that. This way you can get a lot of unique prints, using the layering die shapes you have in your stash. Hugs, Shaz

Thanks for all your tips and ideas! I took your tip on using the dry board eraser on the MISTI and also use it with my gel press. I find it so much easier on my wrists. Would love to see more videos using the gel press. TFS!

I adore making monoprints, and it's wonderful to see you doing it too. You made such beautiful examples. I often like to add additional stenciling after I make my prints. I also like using alcohol inks and acrylic paint on my gel press too. Looking forward to seeing more of these videos from you.

Hi... kudos to you for stepping outside your comfort zone and sharing your experience with a gel press and encouraging others to play along. I have collected a variety of supplies for that technique because I love the looks people get with it but it remained unused for quite a while because I had used acrylic paint for my first try with it and I wasn’t impressed with my results. I’m hoping that practice will make perfect when I play with paints again. I had greater success using the Oxide inks and even splattering Brushos for effect as Tracey from Lavinia Stamps does in her videos. I will think of you when I grab a stack of card and start playing again. Thanks for sharing and have a great day. 🙂

Ugh, I've been hooked on gel press tutorials, kept telling myself 'no, you don't need to buy something new', and then you go and make something beautiful using a gel plate & oxide inks!?! Who knew! 😵 I never would have thought to use oxide inks. Brilliant 👌 and I need it!

Great that your daughter advises you to use gems on the butterfly . She made great backgrounds too 😍. I love to see how others use the gell press, maybe one day I will get one too. Till now, I have so much patterned paper to use up 😅

I’ve been thinking about making note card sets as Christmas gifts and I think I just found the technique I would like to use! I just love the results you got with the gel pad- so artistic! Thank you for sharing 💕

Oh Yes Please! More Gel Press videos! I JUST this week discovered this tool and have been also "squealing" at the results! My favorite is hand sanitizer and alcohol inks - such VIBRANT color! Thank you for sharing Jennifer McGuire!

Well! Dang! I had to rush over to a web site and purchase a gel press. Who know I would like it so much just watching your video. I'm anxious to try my hand at it. I'm a pretty simple card maker and always love how you decorate your cards so beautifully! Thank you, Jennifer!

Please do more with gel press! You showed so much but I’ve not used mine in awhile because I was always hesitant to try inks! Please do more videos with the gel press!
