Virgil Abloh hasn't stopped pumping out Nike collabs and each collection gets a little bit more eccentric. His iteration of the Nike Waffle Racer includes a plastic overlay on the upper, and this video shows you how to remove it.

I did it first ask reddit, good job though I did this too all my pairs right away I could tell before release it would be worth it. I didn't pull my white string I actually painted it black does it not hurt the shoes construction? Lastly I put ther green top lace from the white version on the black version and put the black lace on the white version they both look so much better.

cameron smith dope! never said i did this first. was just showing ppl how to do it if they wanted to try. the white thread’s only there to hold the plastic so it doesn’t hurt the construction at all. love seeing all the variations of what ppl did for the waffle racer and the vapor street.

Great video, I have the white pair and want to remove the plastic. I was worried about the bottom glued on plastic around the midsole, and the acrylic paint looks like a great solution. What colour would recommend for the grey suede on the white pair? This one look alright? angelusdirect.com/collections/paint/products/bone-paint Or do you think it is much harder to paint the white pair than the black pair (and make it look good like yours)?

!!! NOT as easy at it looks !!! B0ought the pair of shoes to do this with and it took me around 2 hrs for the first shoe lol. Make sure to have a sharp exacto knife. Also wear the shoes with the net atleast once before you cut. I made the mistake of not wearing them before cutting and i actually kinda like it with the net.
