That was such a genuine friendship. No matter what you may think of Boyzone and their music, I salute their friendship and the love they have for their friend, the late, great and much missed, Stephen Gately..

My brother also died in Majorca in 2009. He was 32. It’s bad enough losing a brother but when it happens on foreign soil it’s even worse. That’s why Stephen’s death affected me particularly. On a side note I bumped into Ronan in London once and he was the politest person ever. He was with his baby, I think Jack who is now grown up.

I’m watching this now Oct 2021, and I’m in tears and I even didn’t know them, until now.

In fact gay guys are often (not always) some of the nicest guys you'll meet as they're not afraid of their emotions like many "straight" guys seem to be. I mean, I'm not one to cry publicly but I still love a good love story and understand that pain, and also joy, is a part of being human.

Oh gosh I don't think I will ever forget when I found out. I have been a fan of Boyzone but esp Steo since I was 5. He was front and center on my wall oeople thought I was strange this little southern girl obsessed with an Irish band. The day he died I was at work and my boyfriend at the time kept trying to get a hold of me, I was in a mtg and my phone kept beeping. My sister was pregnant with her first at the time so I excused myself thinking it was her. I remember it said check your news Steo's dead. I lost it. I ended up going home and I cried the whole way home. I lived with a family at the time and the mom called my mom freaking out. My mom just sat with me on the phone 3,000 mi apart not saying anything just letting me cry. I am not one to get hung up on celebrity's but to this day I still choke up thinking of him and every year light a candle for him. He was my first hero.

Today 11 jears ago true very true we lost Stephen to soon at age of 33 old when he passed away he was sich a very talented man just lost him to soon .and every song he sang there was a purpose for every he sang. Stephen will Always be number one to me .never forget.

It was a lovely time to hear that the band STAYED WITH THEIR DEAR BROTHER AND NEVER LEFT "Steo alone even in those the darkest moments they never left his side **EVEN IN THOSE DARKEST HOURS IN THE CHURCH" .
