I was thinking about you while I was driving. Sometimes I wonder about recording the drives, but then I remember we see this landscape all the time and don't think anything of it, but other people do. LOL I got a good clip of an owl hooting in the woods at night, but I can't post it. I had gone outside for a potty break and, well, it's obvious from the sound that I was on a potty break. LOL

I'm too curious for my own good sometimes. LOL I'm glad I'm not the only one. It really was a peaceful park, and everybody was so nice! A "neighbor" even came to the door Saturday night and invited us up for some pickin' and grinnin'. I can't wait to vlog some more of our state parks. We have some good ones!

It's so nice down there! We normally go to Somerset shopping quite a bit. My mom loves Rose's. LOL

There was the coolest cat that lived there in our little cluster of cabins. He was huge and kept guard over the place. You could tell that's what he was doing. (And we never saw a squirrel the whole time we were there LOL)

Oh that's right! I remember you telling me that now. It was great seeing how much the Tennessee folks loved it over there, and how impressed they were with the park. We're lucky to have such great state parks! Now, does your accent come out more when you go to Salyersville? I know mine thickened up a bit while I was there. LOL

Would you believe I did a big story when I was a reporter about what happened to Mayor McCheese and all those guys? I got to wondering about it and had to find out. (Turns out it was all over a lawsuit!) Ya know, I couldn't tell ya much about an aardvark's face, but I feel I'm an expert on the other end now. LOL Jenny Wiley... here's a short version because it's quite a story... she was a settler in the area back in the day. One night while her husband was gone to sell ginseng, Indians attacked her cabin. They killed her brother and all her children except the youngest, and she was pregnant at the time. They were taken captive, and later her youngest child was killed, followed by her baby when she gave birth to it. She wound up escaping month later and walked all the way home through the mountains. There's more to it, but she was a tough lady!

Our McDonald's here in town used to be on point, but over the past couple of years they've gotten awful. Thank God Burger King opened! LOL That image I saw on the tv when I woke up will be burned in my mind forever. I tried to go back to sleep and forget it but found myself rocking back and forth in the corner of the room. LOL

@@TalesoftheTeknohillbilly I need ant eaters, as tooooo many fire ants around here, and I am allergic to them😱 I never had McDonalds growing up, as not in my town, but now Burger King....I will go to there and order, but none here, so been over 14 years😕

We hadn't had a Burger King in town from probably 10 years until this year. And it has changed my life! (It's the little things, LOL)

I am so thankful it wasn't! I'm still traumatized from when I was little and got into a hornets nest on the ground. It was at a cookout, and they stripped me naked and covered me in beer. LOL
