For years I didn't like Brooke Shields. I always thought she seemed snooty. ( i was probably secretly jealous). Then I read an article about her and realize how wrong I was. She really is a good person. She went through a lot and had that nutty mother.

Someone died bc of her show and it was cancelled. she had a regular guy on and said a friend is secretly in love with you they brought the friend out and it was his best male buddy. a short time later the guy was so humialted and upset that he committed suicide Then Jones vanished from TV. not that long after this episode Im surprised no one talks about it anymore. it was a huge story at the time.. and Jerry Springers show was affected also by the situation.He came under fire so. he was more careful for a minute but that didnt last too long Then it was all washed under the rug like it never happened and the tv hosts went back to being asswholes again. And Jerry is still going at it and Jones was blacklisted for many years

She was in college in her prime..18 to 23 right after Endless Love..her mother should have realized college is always there, but when the directors are calling in 1983, you can't say "wait 4 years" and expect them to.

Jim Key Thanks. Brenda Starr was terrible and Brooke wasn't a strong actress but she improved significantly as time went on. I felt that she held her own in the very controversial Pretty Baby. Her autobiography is not well written but revealing. Watching her here and then imagine her dealing with a mother who drank daily, usually to the point where she passed out, I am amazed that she makes her life seem lovely and she is well-spoken as well.
