In this video I go over the 4 big mistakes I made in my Etsy shop last year that cost me a lot of sales. I hope by sharing these, you can learn from my mistakes and continue to grow your own Etsy shop. Despite these mistakes, my shop still did very well, which I am so thankful for. I hope this video gives you some insight into how to make your shop grow into a full time income.

Jenny, I love you so much, you are so genuine..... I am one of your VIPs. I have joined other groups in the past and I could tell they didn't care about what you were there to learn, they just wanted that fee every month..... Your not like that and I'm so grateful. Now with that said, I'm not selling on Etsy yet but I want too. You talk about how important the pictures are here and both in the group, I watched the last live Monday. I'm am horrible at taking pictures and even worse about posting content and I know I have to in order to get sales, it's just hard to do everything and do it all well. But I'm willing to learn and I want to grow and have an Etsy shop more than anything. So I'm willing to do what it takes. God bless 😊

Aww thanks so much, Kim! That means a lot 🥰. As for your photos, I would watch the training in the group about taking photos. I just use my phone, and portrait mode is my favorite for those nice crisp photos and a blurry background. Then brighten them up with the editing if you need to. Also, you can use a tripod and a time to get pics of you holding the wreath if you need to show the size of the wreath better. I do that all the time too. Sometimes it takes a lot of bad pictures to get some good ones, but it’s worth it!

Interesting. I found you on social media. I loved the videos of the wreaths and bought both of the ones I saw. And I am a wreath maker! When I would check your etsy, I saw the same things all the time so I did stop checking. You are very good at analyzing your business and sharing it with others. And your wreaths are beautiful.

Thank you so much Jenny for all the tips. I actually have an Etsy shop for years now. Your tips would really help anyone who has an Etsy shop whether they are doing wreaths or anything else. I too have made some of these mistakes. But I also rely on my facebook business page and word of mouth. I actually sell more there than Etsy. Go figure!!! Anyways, I've always made wreaths, but for family, friends and myself. I've never made any to sell. But I'm thinking of going into this more. I really enjoy your wreaths and your videos. Hi Jenny thankyou for being so candid about your business. We cant always think of everything and sometimes we just need to rest our brain. Don't beat yourself up. I would like to see you do some different and unique things just to show your audience that you can do something different. We tend to get stuck in a certain style pattern because we're too busy and it takes time to create something new. Best wishes I love your channel

So glad this was helpful! I talked a little bit about my limited experience with craft shows in an older video I have here on KZfaq, but I think it depends. If you love them and they’re worth your time, I say go for it. Personally I prefer to just sell online.

I'm guilty of these same mistakes. Some years I do better than others at keeping the shop stocked. I have also quit making a good seller because it was very tedious to make.😂

It got more consistent after about a year and a half, but it didn’t make what I would consider a “full time income” until about year 3. It’s been consistent since then for the most part.

All my marketing points back to my Etsy shop. I don’t make the actual sales on social media. I use it as free organic marketing. Hope that helps to clarify!

How do I know what to make for a best seller

There’s a lot of different factors that go into it, and educated guesses. Staying on top of trends, seeing what sells best for your particular customer, getting the listing started off right, pictures, etc.

How do you develop an email list? I don’t have a website but I do use social media to sell. Etsy has not done. Nothing for my sales. You indicate you gave a discount through your Etsy shop to those who gave you their email. How do you do this in your Etsy Shop? Any assistance is appreciated.

I have a whole training on that inside my VIP group. But basically I offered a coupon in my shop, set up that coupon in my Etsy shop, and then when someone joined my email list I had that coupon emailed to them automatically. The coupon code was the incentive for them to sign up. Hope that makes sense!

I am wondering after seeing your video today, how you have the time to do everything that you are doing. I know you are very organized....you have to be with all the value streams you have and then to do all of the buying, ordering, shipping, making and well...everything. I just don't see how you do this as one person. I see so many videos coming out by you and I understand that they are a value stream too. Videos get ads, and ads equate to money. Maybe it is time to go bigger and hire some wreath makers???

It’s all about focusing on the most important things first and getting those done. I don’t spend a lot of time on fluff. But I also love my job and that helps A LOT! As far as the videos go, they don’t take too long, and my husband edits my videos here on KZfaq, which saves me a ton of time. And my kids are older now and can help with a lot around the house. And if I were to hire someone it wouldn’t be for the wreath making. That’s my favorite part!

Often when I make these kinds of videos, which are very vulnerable for me, people want to see numbers. I also like when other people show their numbers. I have talked in my other videos about how much of that is profit, but I didn’t talk about that here because that wasn’t the focus of this video. I’m sorry if that was tacky

She is sharing with wreath-makers how much they can earn. Why you would make such a rude, hurtful comment says much more about your character than anything else. Did it make you feel better about yourself?Do you aim to make a certain number of hurtful comments daily? I don’t get it.
