Can I go to bed now?! 😂

Used to travel Lichfield to Birmingham so often with my grandma going into Birmingham or sometimes we would go to bournville as she used to work for Cadbury’s. I’m deaf now but can still hear the sound of the trains as they departed a station. So many memories seeing all those stations I travelled through so often as a child.

I'm going to miss the 323's and the noise they make. I remember when the Cross City was electrified and the 323's were introduced. God I'm old!

I was a student at Birmingham university in 1978. The cross city line had just opened. Old, smelly DMU between there and New Street. It’s much better these days!

I went to Sutton Coldfield around 10 days ago for a Model Railway show and it is a lovely town, do recommend to have a good look around Jen! Wylde Green was just funny with the announcements but it great to see that you rode the 1st train. Great video Jen

Nice new train, but the old ones aren't bad - especially the Centro livery, as they all were when I was at uni there and lived in Erdington!

its nice to see the 930s now entering service on the Cross city line & the 730s are amazing & i got to try one out when i had a week in the West Midlands at the end of Febuary well i rode 2 1 during the evening rush hour from Birmingham to Wolverhampton & as it was busy with standing room only there was planty of room for standing passengers & a few day later took the opportunity to ride another one from Wolverhampton to Birmingham which i was sucsessfull in getting a seat all the way to Birmingham & the seats are confortable & i love the 730a they get a thumbs up from me awesome vlog

Nice to see the new Class 730/0 3-Car trains now in service on the Cross-City Line. With more of them to be introduced throughout this month and throughout this year. Very nice trains these.

Great to see them finally being introduced on the Cross City Line. I know people love Class 323s, but I think the xl730s are definitely a step up, they feel so much more spacious

in 4 minutes you managed to make an outro, run down those stairs, get a coffee and still make the train. in an hour, i didnt even get tome to check to see what my platform my train was at (at kings x) until right at the end, when it was announced just when RTT loaded. wow

Have to say, Class 730 is much better than I imagined it being. But I will still really miss Class 323 when it disappears from the Birmingham cross-city line. Class 323 is my favourite of all the WMR trains

That train seem to roll quieter ( sans announcements) than others. Design or Newness? Glad that even during a train rush you have priority for coffee.

This is a really interesting interior, to me it looks a bit like the old Turbostar units, particularly the window shape and seat tables, with a seat shape of the London Midland Desiro's. I really like the West Midlands Railway branding on the trains exterior.

I know getting older now. Remember the electrification of the cross city line and the 323 been brand new. Nan lived at northfield so used cross city line regularly then. At the time remember thinking miss the old DMU that were there before the 323.

I think you should have a day (or more) out on the Cross City Line riding the 323's. Maybe, you could take a bit of time filming the experience, taking us along, and more time for your own.

Be glad it's a 730 and not a 230! Imagine refurbished D stock on the Cross-City line...

Only found out they started running today this morning and coincidentally ended up on one from Lichfield city to Trent valley. Was only a few mins on there but it was so nice to finally get on one. They did have some issues with door opening tho. They got the doors open in the front 3 coaches then 30 seconds later the back 3 but then the very end door didn’t open at all 😭.

The new Class 730 3-Car trains are quite nice and it’s good to see them in service on the Cross-City Line. I also can’t wait to see the Class 730/2 5-Car trains also coming into service later this year.

Yes and make sure you do visit Sutton Coldfield. The park is a highlight. They used it for the commonwealth games.

WMR Class 730

3:11 Ah yes but the good news/bad news thing with you are getting them is that whilst you are getting them, you're not having 323221, we seem to be keeping hold of Centro for some reason

I still need to go finish the Cross City line. I've not done the very south end, or seen the Centro liveried 323, or seen most of the WMR ones since they were named. I do wonder whether it will remain in Centro livery when it goes to Northern, and whether Northern will do a GMPTE one. I always prefer 2+2 seating. More room when sat, less awkward with other people sitting, and more room when standing. Especially hate the 3+2 seats on the GA 720s, as I can't walk through the aisle with a backpack, and not bash my arms on the seats.

Nice to have 2+2 seating. Seats are rather hard. As my journey is usually Kings Norton to Brum my bum can just about cope. Long-legged friends report that the legroom of the aircraft seating is poor. I hate aircraft seating - fine for short commuter runs, but the cross city line is hybrid - with the Red-itch to Lichfield run taking 1:20 - unpleasant with the new seats.
