I feel like Temp V is the answer, not the Virus. What I think would happen for S5 is the Boys would kidnap some Vought scientists and make them make gallons of Temp V. And with that Temp V, go to the military and give hundreds of soldiers a dose. Then you have an army of trained, Temp V soldiers vs thousands of Compound V individuals who sided with Homelander for the takeover

Nuance. They wrote him incredibly well. Too well the way they were selling him as "worse than homelander". He's a realistic Captain America. Only one on his team that can fight, and go until a mission is complete. He bullied his team because he was tired of their incompetence and no military training. He was brutally tortured for 70 years. He's showed some level of guilt accidentally blowing that building up (hence doing more dr*gs to escape reality), and obviously has deep empathy with how he showed remorse over countess betraying him. His "toxic masculinity" is unfair to label as he has been on ice for 70 years with 40's ideology. He never showed an attitude of stubbornness to learn, or treat every one like his is above them. He was doing a mission he was tasked with, something he always would make sure of was finished, things went sideways and he still tried to keep up his agreement. Like he said, "I'm not a bad guy". He wants to redeem himself, but needs a handler. In comes Mallory to rehabilitate him for her projects.

@@Billy-bc8pk Nah. It was kinda toxic. Let's be honest, the shit he did to Noir and his team was beyond the pale. And you can kinda see him crumple, hurt, when his aggressive flirting actually encounters resistance or when he shows off for the rebels and has Gunpowder in the backblast, almost destroys their entire base. It was not exactly a flattering portrayal of masculinity. Like there's definitely an element of honestly probably unintentional by the show heroism to the guy, but let's not pretend he wasn't a little of a prick.

Not to discredit Soldier Boy at all, but I think part of the reason we love him so much is because we hate Homelander so much (mostly because Anthony Starr as homelander is God tier acting), that we are willing to put up with soldier boy just to finally kill Homelander.

No. Everyone likes Soldier Boy, because he doesn't sugar coat anything & he's a man of his word. He's one of the oldest Sup's & his world views haven't changed a bit.
