I feel like the big mistake was not evoking endurance in response to the breach cast to deny anything being escaped to begin with. Or, better yet cast it during his draw step to shuffle it away so he couldn't cast it with Lurris.

With many triggered ways to win and Thoricle as common as it is, I'm surprised we're not seeing Trickbind added to the 99. Wait until Consult resolves, counter the trigger, leave the player with almost all cards exiled.

@@MetalHeadedNoah Trickbind has splitsecond, so it's non-interactable. I *feel* like if you've let the stack resolve to that point(stack clears after orcale or consult is cast)holding up 2 mana to hit it after still seems too late, but letting others battle the stack, having it resolve, and having the split second spell in your pocket is superior.

The main issue is how mana inefficient it is when you'd rather have say like Delay. Even then, some decks run Silence effects to then Oracle win anyway.

Should the Helm of the Host have triggered on Yasharn? Both abilities trigger at the beginning of combat and the Helm wasn't equipped when the trigger would have gone off.

That is correct helm wasn't equipped to a creature at the beginning of combat so he wouldn't have created a token and would've had a copy of yishan

Helm triggers regardless of being equipped to a creature or not. It checks on resolution, so you can reorder it and Ardenn's trigger accordingly.

Can anyone explain the win line for the lurrus deck if the pilot would turn 2 activate hermit Druid? Is there a way if that whole deck is in the graveyard? Usually there is a narcomoeba and other similar cards in hermit decks

Does helm actually trigger after it was equipped to a creature with Ardenn's trigger? In our games, it didn't because those cards trigger at the same time.

Helm's triggered ability, unlike a lot of similar abilities, doesn't actually have an 'if there is an equipped creature' clause. "At the beginning of combat on your turn, create a token that’s a copy of equipped creature, except the token isn’t legendary. That token gains haste." Normally, nothing would happen, because there isn't an equipped creature, but the ability is still put on the stack, and because it doesn't target, an equipped creature can be... located, in between the trigger being put on the stack and it resolving

I had a similar question some time ago... it turns out, Helm triggers regardless of being attached to a creature or not. Because of that, if it becomes attached to a creature before the ability resolves, it'll make a copy of that creature.

Not too sure why Zach keeps casting Null Rod? It's only hurting himself and others that could have possibly helped stop Ryan. Plus he shut off all his own artifacts too.

Thassa's oracle is a means to an end, just like any wincon. Is LED, underworld breach and brain freeze boring? Is Tivit/Time sieve boring? Malcom/Glinthorn? What makes a wincon not boring in your eyes? The enjoyable part of any EDH game, CEDH included is the journey to get to the destination, not the destination itself.

@@69lolcatz by definition, it's competitive edh, which means your deck needs to be as competitive as possible and there are lots of viable commanders and styles in cedh. Being competitive includes having compact wincons based on your colors or your commander. I personally don't want to play suboptimal combos if better cards and combos exist. Everyone is super open to proxies too, I have entire decks that are all proxies. There is high power edh which allows for more diversity and a lower price point but it's not true cedh. It's really just what you and your playgroup wanna play, I just personally enjoy the puzzle or chess-like aspect of cedh where you have to both think deeply and on the fly about the most advantageous play at any given time.
