Kpop being exposed too much in the west is exactly what's ruining it. The wave of new girl groups this year is following the same trend similar to black pink and it's not helping. But it's BTS extreme penetration of the western market that's the real problem. But I could complain all day but nothing is stopping them.

She placed #1 on the competition show Produce 101 in 2016 (at the age of 16), making her part of the group I.O.I, which existed for 11 months, before debuting as a soloist. For those who haven't had Lays Ketchup chips, you're missing out! I used to eat them all the time as a kid in Canada and was saddened when I moved to the U.S. and they don't sell them here. It makes no sense because Lays is an American company.

i haven't tried them. but i've found at some indian grocery marts, there are Lays spanish tomato tango, i could be wrong, but to me, they taste like a spicy ketchup chip if there ever was one.

People of any age should be welcomed in to the kpop community (or any community). Diversity is good across the board, even in fandom. Everyone can be proud of Somi, but none of us own her, or her success. And none of us should be deciding who gets to be a fan of anything.

She’s only popular because they are pushing Korean pop music to break into that market. I don’t listen to any of it, yet KZfaq and ads constantly show me those pop groups that I can’t understand a damn thing they are saying.

@@tami3456 I mean, it's sort of a truism to just say she's an unknown to people that don't know her yet. But it isn't fair to say she isn't well-known when she's a star in some of the largest music markets in Asia, and has been for years.
