For those who are finding similarities to other YG artists it’s because Somi is under The Black Label which is YG’s subsidiary company (BlackPink was SET to be moved there as well) and the overall main producer (in-house producer) for both companies is Teddy Park aka Teddy. He’s been there for years and tend to have the same sound, you can tell which songs he makes because they all sound the same lol. Also Ace I wanted to say that somi’s last name jeon is pronounced like jon/john I hope that helps 💗

The song is dope and so is Somi, but I don't like how it feels like a Pharrell/Neptune's beat, it even has Pharrell's producer tag at the beginning. Im not sure what Teddy is doing, he even writes her rap similar to how Lisa would rap.

How are we not talking about that hairstyle?? I love Somi but it just wasn’t it, and the grill could’ve been taken out, I’m just not here for all the cultural appropriation as an entire concept for the song. Literally feels like she’s in costume when these things are rooted deep in black culture. Just feels very off and I’m disappointed in Somi tbh, especially as a Canadian that is aware of these issues. The bunny fit was cute! Why couldn’t she do more of that? Just a shame because I actually like the song but the styling choices were a major flop.

Thank you! I’ve been looking everywhere to see if anyone would call any of this out and, tbh, I hate that no one seems to have. It makes me not want to listen to the song or watch the video because that whole section felt like a cheaply done caricature.

Grills aren't cultural appropriate just popularised in Hiphop culture but it's orginates from Europe. But I agree with the hair and she looks like a clown too me.

rather than that, somi is under the same label as blackpink. YG’s subsidiary label The Black Label. They tend to have the same style thanks to Teddy Park the in house producer for over 10 years lol

I love Somi but the song is kinda wack. Fast Forward is great, and "The Way" is great and should have been the promoted bside. Her rap stuff is just cringe, but i still love her.
