Blacklabel really suits Somi. They let her shine without having to change herself. In JYP she was confined into someone she was not. They event went too far as to tell her ro sing nasally and cutify her voice which she shared in Sister Slamdunk. Now that she is appreciated for who she truly is, she shines more. I hope to see more of her this year.

@@nagiseishirosimp i had to compare since she was with JYPE for years and even when she was with IOI and after the disbandment everyone had high hopes that JYPE would let her debut but they kept delaying it to the point that she chose to leave the company. Moreover, she was trained in JYPE. I had to compare how they trained her and let her perform as an idol. In BlackLabel she has more freedom as an artist and as a person. Look for older videos for reference. 😉

Anyone in the worldwide industry who isn't noticing k-pop is doing so at their own peril. K-Pop is now poised to go on a more worldwide stage, as many of their top acts are singing in English, which is a much more widely spoken language than Korean. They're preparing to go worldwide and if not in this 4th gen, it definitely will in 5th gen. Maybe this is just a sampling before the big push, or maybe it will creep into the wider world outside and eventually get play time on the big stations.

I feel like Somi's album "XOXO" has an entire story line. From Birthday, where she meets the guy to Outta My Head where she realizes she has a crush on the guy to DUMBDUMB where she tries to get the guy's attention to What You Waiting For when she hints the guy to ask her out to Watermelon when they're dating then to Don't Let Me Go where their relationship starts to face problems and the perfect shiny side isn't so perfect to Anymore when the guy mistreats her while she still wants to hold on because she misses their happy memories and lastly to XOXO where she takes revenge on the guy and realizes she's better off shining solo. I think it's these details that really makes her first album special for me. Though I may be wrong about the storyline, I see something going through the entire album, and how each song has a different vibe. I'm a somewhat new Somi stan (loved her since DUMBDUMB) and I'm so proud of her. I hope Somi can surprise us with more content in the future. Saranghae!!!! I love you Somi 💕

this mv is giving me the chills, idk but I feel like it shows that not everyone can be happy on Christmas because some of us is heartbroken or just sad being lonely but I like how Somi portrays all of us by how we are truly feeling. This song is exactly how i feel after he played my feelings. "I should never have given you the key to my soul" and "Do i ever cross your mind anymore" and the whole lyrics and video. He took advantage of my soul being in pain, i let him the key to my heart and now i'm broken and need "medicine to ease the pain" and i'm wondering whether he thinks about me, he used to be obssessed with me and now probably won't think anymore. Anymore hurts the most and i love how she emphasised on it by making it the title. Will he think about me anymore? Won't he love me anymore? Is it forever gone? Used to be obssessed with me now not thinking about me anymore. Other concepts also present - the blame for myself for giving him the key and the pain

This concept fits her so perfectly, the wistful undertone is accentuated by her light voice. Her voice helps the prechorus transition to the chorus (with the slower/softer prechorus and drum heavy chorus). The visuals remind me of 2000s MVs, almost Adele-like. This is a masterpiece.
