I have no particular interest in kpop, but have been investigating out of curiosity after seeing the global popularity of acts such as BTS or Blackpink. I've never been into manufactured pop (where everything the soloist or group does is dictated by an army of managers, composers, producers, choreographers, stylists etc) With live performances, I much prefer the core instruments (drums, bass, guitar/keyboards and lead vocals) to be performed live. As such, most 'comeback' shows being sung over the studio track with lowered vocals is disappointing to me. Therefore I've been searching for 100% live kpop artist performances with a backing band and no pre-recorded vocal tracks. So far the most impressive I've found are both by Eunji - this cover of Love on Top and the cover of Bang Bang. It's a pity that there are so few original kpop songs performed live like this cover.
