I really enjoy watching James... it was looking like Jason Mangano might have a chance at preventing a runaway today. There was no wrong answers once again today in the Jeopardy round. James found all 3 Daily Doubles once again.
James had $4800 when he found the 1st Daily Double. Kate Kelly had $1k and Jason had $1800. James bet "all of it" and answered correctly resulting in a total of $9600.
At the 1st commercial break, we learned how James met his wife while they were teaching English in Thailand. He also told us that he caught her off guard when he proposed, as he knew she knew he was going to propose, but he had punked her with some fake proposals. James had $11,800, Kate had $2200 and Jason was at $2600 at this point.
It all changed drastically when James found the final 2 Daily Doubles back-to-back. (First time this has happened to him I believe.) James had $25,400 and bet $11,381, (his wife's birthday) answered correctly and had $36,781. Had he answered incorrectly he'd only have $14,019. Kate had $3400 and Jason had hopes of preventing a runaway with $11,600.
Obviously... if James had not found the 3rd Daily Double, it would have made for a closer game, if Jason could have found it and answered correctly. No such luck, as I said, James found the 3rd Daily Double his next clue and bet his daughter's birthday $11,914 amassing $48,695.
They entered Final Jeopardy with James at $55,895, Kate had $6600 and Jason had $12,400. James is so gutsy with his wagers, that it makes you use a calculator to see how close the game could be with an incorrect responce. He wagered $31,010, had he not answered correctly and Jason went all in and answered correctly, James would have only won by $85.
That didn't happen and James set a 14th one day winning record with $86,905. Kate bet $6500, answered correctly and had $13,100. Jason only bet $2k answered correctly and ended in 2nd place with $14,400.
James's 24 day total is $1,867,142. His new daily average is $77,797. James could reach $2M tomorrow with a game winning total of $132,858.
Holzhauer’s competitive skills started when he was young. In April 2001, he helped lead Naperville North High School to a first-place finish in the Illinois State Finals Academic Challenge. Holzhauer was also part of the first-place Junior Engineering Technological Society competition team for Naperville North in January 2001, according to the Chicago Tribune.

I enjoy watching James & how his brain works, you can sometimes detect that he is purely guessing, as I do sometimes, yet manages to get it right . . his most incredible attribute is the power of recall, because how many times has it happened that I know that I know the answer but just cannot bring it up fast enough . . . how many of us have said ( as soon as the correct response was given ) of course ! . . . plus he has the timing on the clicker down precisely . .

I can’t wait to see the bloodbath among the following players: Brad, Ken and James. In my opinion, Brad is the best Jeopardy player of all time. The only reason Ken made more money than Brad was because of the old rules which placed a cap on contestants. Brad always mopped the floor with Ken. However, I think James might be better than Brad. It never stops being amazing. If it turns out that Holzhauer is truly unbeatable, I wonder what the solution is. Jennings took part in 73 episodes. Let's say James reaches 90. At that point, does he just hang it up and retire undefeated like Rocky Marciano? His opponents aren't aware of his incredible run until the introductions and only learn his strategy as they are competing against him. It would be like competing against a powerhouse football team and not having any scouting report with which to anticipate plays and exploit any weaknesses.

with another blowout win, he's less than 10 games from breaking ken jenning's winnings record (and would probably be over 3m had he not wagered 10k-plus on the daily doubles in double jeopardy in his 75th game). since the close call against adam levin where he barely wagered enough in final jeopardy to win by $18, nothing but one-sided blowout wins... looking forward to next week when he hits 2.6M, then counting the days til 75 wins, if he gets there. i remember when trebek said, "we will never see anything like this again. ken is one of a kind." boy, was he wrong. i wouldn't be surprised if his winning streak reaches 100... his opponents can't hit the buzzer fast enough.

It will be interesting to see how his opponents, that have seen his style, follow his lead. There's bound to be some point when his competition will know who he is before the game starts. Last couple games he wasn't able to ring in on the 1st clue... buzzer skills and being able process the answer before Alex has finished with the clue is his strong suit. When he broke records on the Chase 4 yrs ago, he was rattling off the answers before she finished the question.

Actually if you calculate it at his current daily winnings of $77,797, he only needs 8.4 days to tie Jennings 74 game total winnings.

When did Lincoln win an OSCAR with Daniel Day Lewis? I know it is wrong, but that was my guess. Just FMyI Oh yeah mike856ms, Infantry eliminates Daniel Day Lewis b/c he played the then President, so that chooses someone other than a lead character like a General or Major; thus, Denzel Washington as the black infantry soldier. & the guy who played Ferris Bueller did not win the OSCAR for that type of period-piece.

My guess is he's been paying his fair share of taxes all along. He was nearly a millionaire before he started his rein on Jeopardy.

Hungry Haus I didn’t know his financial situation, only joking about the IRS. Only insinuating that they were going to get their share. I hope he continues winning.

The best part of this video was Kate’s attitude from the moment James hit the first double jeopardy. Omg, she was pissed and willing to show it.

Losing interest because this has become so predictable that this gambler always wins. Just like that Utah guy. Don't even watch any longer.

This is interesting to me, because I honestly enjoy his aggressive playing style, and it may a long while until we see another player of Holzhauer's caliber on the show again. I'm just enjoying it while it lasts, because players with this guy's skill and consistency are rare on the show.
