I really enjoy watching James... it was looking like Jason Mangano might have a chance at preventing a runaway today. There was no wrong answers once again today in the Jeopardy round. James found all 3 Daily Doubles once again.
James had $4800 when he found the 1st Daily Double. Kate Kelly had $1k and Jason had $1800. James bet "all of it" and answered correctly resulting in a total of $9600.
At the 1st commercial break, we learned how James met his wife while they were teaching English in Thailand. He also told us that he caught her off guard when he proposed, as he knew she knew he was going to propose, but he had punked her with some fake proposals. James had $11,800, Kate had $2200 and Jason was at $2600 at this point.
It all changed drastically when James found the final 2 Daily Doubles back-to-back. (First time this has happened to him I believe.) James had $25,400 and bet $11,381, (his wife's birthday) answered correctly and had $36,781. Had he answered incorrectly he'd only have $14,019. Kate had $3400 and Jason had hopes of preventing a runaway with $11,600.
Obviously... if James had not found the 3rd Daily Double, it would have made for a closer game, if Jason could have found it and answered correctly. No such luck, as I said, James found the 3rd Daily Double his next clue and bet his daughter's birthday $11,914 amassing $48,695.
They entered Final Jeopardy with James at $55,895, Kate had $6600 and Jason had $12,400. James is so gutsy with his wagers, that it makes you use a calculator to see how close the game could be with an incorrect responce. He wagered $31,010, had he not answered correctly and Jason went all in and answered correctly, James would have only won by $85.
That didn't happen and James set a 14th one day winning record with $86,905. Kate bet $6500, answered correctly and had $13,100. Jason only bet $2k answered correctly and ended in 2nd place with $14,400.
James's 24 day total is $1,867,142. His new daily average is $77,797. James could reach $2M tomorrow with a game winning total of $132,858.
