Believe it or not, the correct key for the bassline is not D minor, it's actually G minor. This is because while the sort of higher pitched sound of this bass sounds like it is playing in the key of D minor, Dijon actually has to hit the G key to get that note. G, g d, d, d B-flat b-flat, b-flat b-flat a, a, a, b-flat b-flat. Hence why it is in G-minor, not D-minor. That particular bass synth is a bit unique amongst basses as when you hit the G key, a higher note in D plays simultaneously. This same bass synth is featured heavily in the song Show Me Love by Robin S, where when the D key is pressed, the higehr sound sounds like it's playing A, but it's really D.
