The Lightning Striks series was also top notch. MC has a style that nobody has duplicated, and we used to love when he made triples out of jumps that were not meant to be triples during practice. It was epic. Thx for the info, gonna go see it now.

I always say there are a lot of fast 50 years olds out there flying under the radar. Back in the mid 70s to mid 80s they would usually have two 40 rider gates full in the novice classes, and a full gate of each amateur and expert. Finally got my first bike a few months ago 18 years after raising my kids, and my 50 something dad bod comes off the track and these kids go dam you are fast old man.

I had the pleasure of racing Supercross and Motocross with Jeremy in 95 and 96. He was just on another level that's all you could say. He probably didn't even train for this and came out and performed amazingly. I can tell you riding a motocross bike around the track is the most exhausting experience you'll ever have until you start running and getting your cardio up. This was impressive and great for Mac's daughter to see.

Factory 2-Strokes were the bomb back then. I remember the smell of the VP, and the Brapppp sound unlike any non-Factory bike as they hit it to clear a triple. It was amazing to see in person, and hear. I hated going to 4-Strokes, bvut at the time I bought a Yamaha 426, which was the start of the 450's. I never liked riding it as much as a 2 Stroke, but I bought it because they were outlawing the 2 Strokes and I wanted to be ahead of the curve.

I was a big fan of his, and me and my buddies went to 2 Vegas US Open Sx's, and at the Studio 54 After Party, I went to the bar to get a beer, and MC was arm locked with Troy Lee, well when MC walked up, he bumped into me by accident, and he insisted in buying me a beer, but it was Red Bull Sponsored, so he got me a Red bull and Marandin Vodka instead. That became my fav drink. I started chatting with him, and he invited me up to the 2nd floor, where only the riders and their family/friends could go. I spent that night hanging out with legends, and I was in awe of MC's kindness and how funny he was, Troy lee too. I'll never forget that night, and my respect for him grew quite a bit that night, even though he was my #1 prior. I used to spend hours slow-mo'ing the vids of his style, and how he did so many things to save and gain time. Those were fun days, and it was a blast to be in that mix for a night. I got to know Davey Combs and Malcom McCassy a bit at the Atlanta SX's. We used to drive up from Florida each year for 7 straight years. Fun times and once we went there a few times, we got to know Shae Bentlys brother, Brandon. He was awesome and used to take us out in his Hummer, and he knew basically everybody in Atlanta. He was a great host. So much fun. One time as we were driving back to our Hotel, after we said goodnight to Brandon, I drove my truck and felt bad for a homeless guy, so he hopped in the bed of the truck and we drove him into Buckhead, but we also stopped and got some food. It was freezing outside, and as we got near the hotel about an hour later, I saw that guy in my mirror! I completely forgot!!! We were lauging so hard that night. I dropped him where he wanted to go after that! (There may have been alcoghol involved) Also, we learned the 2nd last time that those frozen shakes you can buy all over Atlanta are the BEST thing in the World for hangovers. Anyway, just sharing some of my favorite times being aroiund that crowd. Solid people, all of them.

I’m guessing MC rode a 125 instead of a 150 big bore to level the playing field a bit…he’s still a beast

The nicest thing about the 125cc 2 smoke is u can really hammer the bike...an i started racing anyway after a pretty bad car accident the 125 is not to bad on the muscle soreness where the big bike requires a little better fitness...i said i could go pull off some magic on the great 125s i had an getting a holeshot on that tweaked little bike against tweaked bigger bikes is a silencer..looks like jeremy got a top 3 start could see from a far...
