Just like with cellphones and other devices, no need to get the latest models, so you don’t spend so much. Just make sure to have these minimum requirements: at least 61 keys; touch sensitivity or velocity (meaning the volume varies with how hard you press); and full sized keys, so that the muscle memory that you develop can be used in real pianos. This video reviews the E373, but you can get the older E363, which has many of the same features (but not the E263, which isn’t touch sensitive). These might not be available where you live, but you can look for others that have the same minimum requirements. Aside from Yamaha, other good brands are Casio, Kawai, Roland, and Korg. Once you find a brand and model, search for it on Google or KZfaq to check if it’s ok. Most likely Jeremy has already reviewed it 🙂

Than you so much Jeremy for the time. It's going to take a while to learn the instrument. The extras a nice but I need to learn to play. Then I can get creative. It's easy to get carried away from the main goal which is learning for me. A more advanced user will have lots of fun on the gadgits.

How about making a video that shows all the sounds and styles so we can decide if it's good enough for us? Here in Canada, it will be available only in late November. Good video, Jeremy, as always. :) A minor point: the volume of the keyboard in this video was quite low compared to the voice, so the demos were a bit hard to hear. If this can be fixed and re-released, it will be very helpful for us! Thanks for your great videos.

Thanks for this! My young teen son would like to learn how to layer/multitrack and we would LOVE it so much if you would make a detailed video using this keyboard, showing how to do so. Even if you don't make such a video: we have an older 2012 Macbook Pro laptop with presumably Garageband, a non-mac laptop that's only a few years old, a Zoom H4N (non-pro model) recorder that has a built-in audio interface (not that we know how to use that very well) and decent Senheiser headphones originally bought for this purpose. Do you know which of these devices would be easiest for combining for doing multitracks? What cables would we need to buy? We could also use Audacity I assume. Thanks so much!!!

Very detailed information ℹ️. Also one thing I noticed when I loaded a user style in a Yamaha psr e I used to have if it had two intro and endings each one is triggered depending on the variation. I’m curious if you have a video about loading user styles into the psr e373. If not you can upload one so we can enjoy great information. I enjoyed watching your video you are amazing 😉

Hi Jeremy, love your videos. My problem is I can't work out what style to suit a voice. For example, if I select bagpipe voice ( which I discovered from the manual) how do I know what style and rhythms suits the bagpipe. If I wanted to play "The Dark Island" eg. what style would I use. I know from watching music on tv I have found different styles being used. Slow marches, slow waltzes etc. Thanks....Gerry

Yours plays a nice bass along with the accompanying rhythm. Mine doesn't, and it's driving me nuts trying to find out how to do this. The e363 actually seems to be less useful than the crappy little PSS480 I had 30 years ago.

Can I register particular style? Just like it registers the voice? I want to save Tabla. I will go to voice then, drum kit, there I will play tabla for two loops and the loop continues. Can we do this in this keyboard?

Yes, very helpful Jeremy. I've chosen psr-ew310 over the psr-e273 to get the 76 key version and the wireless version, though I do not know how to actually use wireless either. Hopefully you get credit for the sale through Adorama, somehow. I don't know how that works either so I have a lot to learn. Without you I would be lost, for sure. Thank you Jeremy.

My question is with the rhyme chords, what if I don't want the rhythm to consistently play, but just activate the sound when I press a certain range of keys. This feature was so easy on older models, but now it's all digital. I just like the background sound when I play a few keys together and follow my sound. I don't want any actual rhythm playing the entire time. Does that make sense?
