The North Carolina high point is the highest mountain east of the Mississippi River. It’s at Mt. Mitchell state park and you can drive almost to the top. There are excellent views from the top.

Jerimoth Hill! The giant of the littles. (The tallest of the five state highpoints under 1000 feet.) Congrats on a successful summit. Hard to believe this used to be one of the most restricted highpoints in the country.

Oh man. You were in the next town over from where I live. Wish I would have known... I would have taken you to the tri-state marker via airline trail in Connecticut, sight of the 1942 train crash.

Congrats on Greylock and Jerimoth! Found Jerimoth Hill to be slightly creepy when I visited. I am also at 8 state high points (NC, IN, OH, ND, CT, NJ, MA, RI). Most dangerous part of Jerimoth was definitely crossing that highway. What do you think your next state peak will be?

On my grand father's farm on Highpoint Rd just pass Sawmill Rd Chester Co in the woods ( field Now) back about1960 there was a little marker in the ground with the elevation put there by the a Government Agency. Have seen one other off Pa RT 851 near Tuscarora Mt. Anybody else ever seen any , and who put them there?
