The shame we feel is the devil reminding us of what grace has cleanse us from… i too struggled and sometimes regress… but I ask the Lord to help my unbelief that He has wiped my book clean of all the wrongs I have done… it took me years but I confessed my sins to the one I wronged… everyday he reminds me and I cannot talk to him about his wrongs less he throws mines on me… but I keep trusting God… never give up.. keep praying and seeking God… He will be right on time
