And they picked the one who would bring them the most fame,money and even after Jermaine left the group,they later left Motown ,him being married to the boss daughter,having kids by her he still could not in his own get out their ,sell concert tickets and more.Yes Jermaine is good ,always had a good voice .But like this he could do it one or a couple of sons but it was like watching wallpaper dry seeing him perform in front of a audience during a concert.And like his brothers in his youth we always had one we loved,had a crush on and him being that right age as a teen star had the most.That ended when he git with Hazel because the fan mags they were in said he was single so those fanatics thought like most teen girls they would be the one.So they turned I him viciously and It did not help he left the group ,stayed at Motown who they blamed on him wanting to be a star thanks to his daddy in law and her .Michael was now a teen and he was the focus of the group.

The father always said Jermaine and Michael were the talent in the family. Janet gained recognition by association. She is not a good singer, dancer.
@vincentguzman70565 жыл бұрын
@@richardbullis6263 Yes Janet gained her success by being a Jackson. But so did Latoya Jackson and we all know how Latoya's career went. Janet however was more dedicated to her career by practicing and developing her craft and just being everywhere, instead of relying on people to carry her. You may not like Janets music but it's nearly impossible to keep a strong career with no talent.

Everybody talks about MJ being talented... And he was... But Janet Jackson also was something... She became a big big name post Rhythm Nation... Story goes (don't know how true it is) that Michael tried to jeopardize her career post her phenomenal success... Apparently he wanted to be the only Jackson from the family to be in the business...
@pedward323 Жыл бұрын
Micheal used to praise his sister and why would Janet be competition for man who who since she was 3 was famous a big part of why she lived the life she grew up with along with her other brothers .Yes she maybe a good dancer but those vocals have sways been a struggle and had much help thanks to the magic producers do with knobs in the studio.I do not think Janet was as famous as her brother when they were the J5 much less Micheal who even in death out sells her and everyone else.
@ccth222 жыл бұрын
What’s interesting is that Jermaine decided to be his own man at such an early age. But I believe it worked out for him to compare his career to MJ would be ridiculous because nobody really can. But this jam as well as “Let’s Get Serious” always bring me back to a certain time in my life and that’s what great music is supposed to do🎼
@pedward323 Жыл бұрын
Sadly you must not know he was comparing himself regularly to his brother even after death.We all know him as At of all Micheals brothers he was the most jealous of them all meanwhile Micheal was taking care of every woman who came in the house with his mother,even after death along with his kids.Jermaine should have just be that Jermaine and who he was as a artist not join the long line of people wanting his brothers success.

Not exaactly. Michael's fame came at the time of the Great Musical Divide. Rap was the thing ! Hip Hop was for the young Black kids. Older Black adults were listening to soul! We were more likely listening to Luther Vandross! The MJ era was very racially divided. A few years after the 1984 Grammys Will Smith and others boycotted the show and put the Soul Train Awards on the map! IF you look closely at the Victory concerts you would find very few Black people in the audience!

Hey, you're right! He was a little too softspoken and lo-key in my opinion. A little more passion there would not have hurt. Many of the Jacksons siblings have a similar tone when they speak, which has its roots from back when they were members of the Jehovah's Witnesses. Arsenio almost fell asleep while he did the interview.

They all have or were notJehovah's witnesses. Only Rebbie and Michael were baptized. When they were younger they went to the Kingdom hall.
