Jermaine died in 1997. His burial site went without a tombstone or even a grave marker for 17 years, that is until 2014 when a fan anonymously paid for Jermaine to finally have his tombstone. G-d bless this anonymous fan but at the same time it is an absolute disgrace that our beloved artists a lot of times don't get the respect they deserve even when dead. It is our duty as 80's music lovers and I grew up in the 80's listening to Jermaine and others, to honor them and spread their legacy. It doesn't matter if they're Black or White or whatever nor their sexual orientation nor their political views. They are our cultural treasures as Americans.

Jermaine really paid his dues being a long time backup singer and dancer. he had some nice hits including the word is out. he died at only 39 of AIDS related cancer. Sadly his grave did not have a head stone for over 17 years for some reason until his mom put one there. he should be remembered a lot more than he is. talented guy.

Stewart was openly gay. He died of AIDS-related liver cancer on March 17, 1997, at age 39 in the Chicago suburb of Homewood, Illinois. I was 17 when this came out - college freshman in Philadelphia - brings me back to memories of Must See TV on NBC, Big Macs, Strawberry Shakes, and Friday Night Videos! Nothing like the craziness of today - you could go places and not have to worry about a mass shooter in a supermarket, fetanyl drugs, or carjackings! Just people having a great time, minding their business, and having fun! Well.... I am 55 years old now, and STILL wish I can go back! Thank God for KZfaq Y'all! My only Time Capsule!

I have an autographed 12" of this record! When I met him I was star struck. I was surprised that his voice was a bit deep (or maybe he was just selling himself that way). I was at Strawberries record store in downtown Boston. I walked in with a pair of "Blues Brothers" mirrored lensed glasses on. When I reached the autograph table he complimented me on the shades...I immediately took them off and handed them to him. He invited me to a show he was performing that evening. What a great memory!

The most prolific era in modern recorded music. Vast numbers of independent of record labels gave artist who otherwise might not have had the opportunity to advance their talents. Creatively new music technology made the 80s the best, into the 90s with New Jack Swing. Teddy Riley, a musical genus, was as influential as Phil Spector was in the 60s.

Actually - have you ever seen the movie... What Dreams May Come? we will all eventually get there as a soul - the thing I believe is we are eventually reborn.. start new eventually everything in life is recycled why would our souls not be? I remember when i was 6 and constant asking my parents abut things and event they knew nothing about - i still remember how i died in my previous life over 50 years ago.. and to be honest next time around i hope i can fly.. id like to be wind under someone's wings... take each day as a gift and make the most of it.. one day it will end - unplanned.. but you will be back one way or another :)

@primetime429

Well the earth is constantly spinning/rotating humans gave these rotations a value and divided it into 24 for hours and that's a day. And 365 of these "days" make what humans call a year. Now a year is when the earth revolves around the sun in a complete circle. So these are the reasons it's not 1986 anymore hopefully this helps you. Ps I'd blame the humans for this.

The beat is definitely good, but the lyrics are kinda cheese. I get the times were about preventing AIDS.

When 80’s African music was happy and fun before the gangsta rap in the mid-90’s. And been in a constant downhill from there. Hence today’s American society.
