Phrasing is so much of a performance, and this is a showcase.

With Tim hitting those notes, I'd be afraid of the ice crashing down! lol

I love how they changed the “call and response “ nature of the original song into an echo instead, plus the incredible “whooshing” and other sounds Adam Rupp uses in this are downright incredible. I think he is one of the big reasons I prefer Home Free to other a cappella groups. He doesn’t sound like he is beatboxing, he sounds like an actual instrument/sound machine. You literally can’t tell the difference. You should react to a video of one his beatboxing solos, it will totally blow your mind!

My neighbor has the same reaction that I do and claims she hates me every time she walks in while I'm playing it. LOL Then insists on listening to the end. I just watched a live performance of this song from Ft. Myers, Fl in Dec. 2018 and it was spot on. It is amazing that they can duplicate these songs (very closely) live.

So true! Before the album came out they talked about the obscene bass notes & high tenor notes. They were right! Of course, now its no big deal for them. They sing those notes all the time! Lol! If you think that knocked your ears off, you should see them live. If they come close by where you live, GO!!! When Tim hits those low notes in concerts, he shakes the heck out of the floor, your seats, and you actually can feel like this pressure in your chest, as if someone just pushed against you...Hard. I'm not kidding. I've seen them 6 times (and this Dec. will be my 7th.), and it's always the same thing. Can't wait to see what you pick to do next. They are all good. Thanks Jerod!

*Do You Hear What I Hear* is imo one of the most intricate arrangements Home Free has done so far ( together with *Fishin' In The Dark / Boondocks* ). This was the first video I saw of Home Free and I was hooked on them. I had seen them on the Sing Off, but this was the first video.. It took a song that everyone knows and put it into a whole different category... Adam did a great job arranging it, but all the guys made it work... Loved your reaction..

You really should go and see them live. I live in the UK and I'm going to see them in concert in a couple of weeks for the first time, but I've heard they are even better live!!

Yep. Tim's range is 5 octaves. He can sing lower than a piano can play. He's blown out speakers. At his lowest notes, you don't so much hear them as feel them.

Please check out the one on Chris Rupp's channel... What Child is This... it is the 1st (and only time so far) that all 6 of the guys sang together after Chris left and Chance joined the group. It's done is a cave.. there is also a Behind the Scenes to that one that is awesome too.. the guys do a little impromptu song ;-)

So glad you got to this one........truly one of my favorites! Adam's arrangement is amazing - be sure to read his description under the video. The background vocals are amazing, and the low notes are amazing..........I know - it's ALL amazing! Loved seeing your face as you picked up all the nuances - it's nice when a reactor actually knows what they are talking about musically. Next on your list is probably Full of Cheer or maybe I'll Be Home. Grandma Got Run Over is a favorite of mine, but it was after Chris left and Chance came, so it would be much further down on your list. Any you choose will be fine with us! And YES - you must see them live. My stomach actually hurts after Tim hits the low notes, such pressure and reverberation! And yes, what you see them do in a video is even better LIVE!

OH YES.. I've been waiting for you to react to this one... GREAT. Wasn't it? I always come back to this when I do a Home Free Binge. When you get the Second Version of the Christmas album, it replaces Chris's voice with Adam Chance's voice. Chance adds a little more depth but you can still, I think, hear components of Chris in the recording. Excellent Re-do but it proves that they record them separately if they're able to replace Chris with Chance so easily. I realize there's no video of the same song with Chance in it, but review it and let us know what you think. I'm curious.
