@jabba2000ad Same thing, start slow and increase speed little by little ! This song is hard af to get down at real speed (1.5x the speed of the video), it is normal if it takes several weeks / months

@jabba2000ad It depends on several factors like for how long you play the guitar (how much hours of practice are behind you), your experience with the different shred techniques used in this song (sweep picking is the most difficult one), if you are familiar with the aeolian scale... I can't tell you exactly how long it will take. How many years of guitar practice do you have ? The best tip I can give you is to isolate the parts you struggle with and practice over and over... and over again, with a metronome. Only time and practice will help you. Take some brakes and practice again. Unfortunatly, it is always the same story with guitar playing... I got the song down perfectly in 2 and a half weeks at normal speed. I play the guitar for 11 years and I am familiar with sweep picking. The thing is once you can play this song perfectly, every other song with similar patterns and techniques will seem easier !

@jabba2000ad Nice experience dude ! Much respect ! I was 1 year old when you first played with a band HAHAHA My personal approach was more focused on lead guitar because I love it so much (I have a lack of consistency when it comes to solid rythms though). Unfortunatly, lead and especially shred lead is way more "brainless" in a sense that you need to sit for hours and hours until speed builds up little by little and your brain memorize the patterns. It needs a shit ton of time for the pattern to become a reflexe. I think that it is the aspect you need to work on, especially if you are a rythm guitarist and never was that interested into shred ! Another tip I can give you, work on the scales ! It is so damnnnn important ! For example Canon Rock, it is played in D major scale, which is the same overall pattern of the B minor Aeolian scale (one of my personal favorite, I have hundreds of hours improvising with it). It helped me so much since most of the patterns are already memorized in my brain ! And then I personally don't use the pinky finger on the particular run you struggle with. It is not a good advice since working on the pinky strength (especially in the beggining of shred learning) is very usefull. I don't know... It just works better for the shape of my fingers... Maybe it will help you ! Feel free to give me feedback on how the practicing sessions went ! I am interested into giving you more advices if necessary Oh ! One last thing ! For building speed, check out on KZfaq some videos about economy picking, or several other very useful videos like "How to shred guitar" or "How the build speed on guitar" things like that. You need to make the smallest movement possible with your right hand when picking, economy of energy and time between each stroke equal more speed Good luck !
