Larry David doesn't play George in the show, Jason Alexander did. But, the George character is based off of Larry David

@@nossenkanter what I’m saying is that as a stand up comedian Jerry isn’t among the upper echelon and that the Seinfeld tv program that the bulk of situations are written by David. I do feel that the Seinfeld show is a classic and humorous sitcom.
