Jerry Lee Lewis Elvis Assassination Attempt Finally Revealed, Graceland Arrest, Mugshot (sold by mrjyn to @NatEnquirer)
read all versions of this incident and watch complete interview:
visualguidanceltd.blogspot.co...
For the first and only time, JERRY LEE LEWIS recounts the true, quixotic tale of his crepuscular, failed visit to a desperately lonely, strung-out Elvis Presley.
He explains how the King's calls for an audience turned into an "attempted Elvis assassination attempt," his Graceland arrest and mugshot, and ultimately the untimely death of Elvis, the Golden Goose, who might have been saved from his demise by dilaudids and désuétude with this midnight visit from the only man who understood.
In this interview, recounted for the first and only time by the Killer, himself; hitherto romanticized - first by Nick Tosches in his masterpiece "Hellfire," and forever-after by all who have dreamed its possibilities; hear the truth - previously dismissed by its piano-playing protagonist as tabloid fantasy - now confirmed by the only man who knows!
Discover the improbable cause of the jagged cicatrix the mugshot displays, decorating the nose of champagne-drunk, Jerry Lee Lewis!
Where truth meets apocrypha, its coruscating glory is real, and everything is permitted (champagne défenestration, brandished pistols), and five Memphis Police cruisers are en route to Elvis Presley Boulevard to save the King from the Killer!
Due to inspire unbelievers, this is an out-of-control, rock 'n' roll telephone game between the King, the Killer, and the World!
Did he wish to kill the King?
It is for you to decide...at last!

You can tell Jerry loved Elvis as a friend for many years. 'I could depend on Elvis, you know". The emotion on his face, it still hurts that he lost a friend.

I think he's truthful about the gun... Even a very drunk Jerry Lee ( which apparently he was), would know that Elvis's place was heavily guarded... His story sounds about right...

To ProjectFlashlight612 - I can't reply directly to your comment, so I'll put it here. If you listened carefully, Jerry Lee said Elvis was more conservative in public. His private life was something else.

I read a book saying Elvis & Jerry Lee were friends not rivals, Elvis admired Jerry Lee's piano playing & his confidence. The book confirms what Lewis is saying about this. The book tells this story Elvis called Jerry Lee several times to invite him to Graceland for a jam session. Jerry Lee accepted & he was at a bar drinking champagne & as he left he was given a pistol as a gift & it was never fired & Jerry Lee said he never fired the gun to this day. Jerry Lee thanked the man for the gun & he was going to put it in the glove box in his car. But Lewis had no gun permit & was advised not to & so he put it on top of his dashboard. As he pulled up to the gates of Graceland Jerry Lee told the gate guard he was invited by Elvis for a jam session. The guard saw the gun on Jerry Lee's dashboard & asked why it was there & was he going to kill Elvis. The guard called Elvis Jerry Lee was there to see him & told Elvis Jerry Lee is drunk & has a pistol & told Elvis' bodyguards it's not a good idea to let Jerry Lee in & so the guard called the police & then the press & media arrived & made a big circus out of it. A reporter asked Jerry Lee to grab his gun & hold it up in the air in front of the gate. That's the famous picture published. The whole thing was blown out of proportion & Jerry Lee was playing up to it & going along with it.

I am trying to find the song "Tell-tale Signs" by Jerry Lee Lewis. Where, oh where, can I find it??? I loved this song years ago. It started out: Why'd you pour the cream and sugar in my coffee? These cigarettes I don't believe they're mine. But, I'll be standing in the shadows of a stranger. More and more I see these ____?_____tell-tale signs. ??? Great song....

Tales from the tour bus says a different story
@weirdopedia
@weirdopedia 5 жыл бұрын
#talesfromthetourbus - while wildly entertaining and masterfully conceived by Mike Judge, depends almost entirely on unreliable versions by sometime unreliable narrators, eg. Morris "Tarp" Tarrant , facebook.com/morris.tarrant Jerry Phillips, Linda Gail Lewis, JW Whitten, JW Brown, Eddie Kilroy et al., whom in benign prerequisite conspire with the filmmakers to provide apocryphal, sensational accounts of events, meant to make an already iconic, rock 'n' roll true-life story unnecessarily more tittivating, thereby confusing and reducing theirs and Mike Judge's credibility for no reason whatsoever; as if the true events of Jerry Lee Lewis need any embellishment for entertainment's sake. Neither Tarp Tarrant (Jerry's one-time drummer, once arrested for robbing a convenience store dressed up like Lash Larue), JW Brown (Jerry's first bass player and subsequent father-in-law), nor Linda Gail Lewis (his youngest sister, with whom I had the good fortune of producing an album in 1990), were anywhere near Graceland that night (well, Linda was there, but only after the arrest). If you are interested in reading the real eyewitness accounts, recorded much closer to the time of the incident, i hope you will find some closer approximation to the truth from the three versions compiled in one post on my blog, here: visualguidanceltd.blogspot.com/2018/11/jerry-lee-lewis-elvis-assassination.html

I've always found this interesting, but Elvis WOULD NOT have hidden in the mansion, The Tiger Man was NO scaredy-cat...a Hep Cat, YES, Elvis feared NO ONE and NO situation, HECK, on his last tour in Madison, Wisconsin, he saw a young guy in trouble at a gas station with some punks, and the light turned red, and like Captain Marvel, he, to the SHOCK of his guards, etc, jumped out of the limo, ran across the street and confronted the attackers, going into a karate pose, he said, "You guys want to fight, then fight me", EVERYBODY was shocked seeing ELVIS, at which point it all calmed down, and Elvis asked if everything was alright and that there would be no more TROUBLE (If you're looking for...), so, he signed autographs, had a few pictures taken and flew off, er ah, got back in his limo, and on to the next concert, actually, maybe that was BEFORE...Elvis got a great laugh out of it, and loved telling everybody about it!!!!!!!

Elvis never would say he was depressed to anyone. Also, why would Elvis reach out to Jerry 15 times, and Jerry not respond....and do you think Elvis would keep reaching out to him? Jerry must of had a shot of his grandpa's cough medicine...Elvis never considered himself the "king." Jerry and Elvis never had a relationship after the 50's. Jerry was the first artist inducted into the rock and roll hall of Fame he points out. He was in the first group inducted. On the night of the ceremony, he may have been first to be recognized. However, the showcase of the ceremony was Elvis' induction.

The King of Rock n roll made rock to what it is today. Without him it wouldn't exist. Many many many musicians have all said the same. It's the same thing with the King of Pop. They both didn't get the title for nothing and it's still being used today; whether you agree or not it doesn't matter. They are the ones with the title still to this day and that will never change in music history. Today you would be listening to Hank Williams types without them lol
